It's (almost) all smiles in our Saturday Cardio Boxing class.
The one exception is usually mid piston-punch, and we don't blame them.
Cardio Boxing isn't about staying comfortable, it's about pushing yourself and staying in the round.
That's the actual workout, pushing past the ten seconds where you want to stop.
Fun comes first, fitness catches up fast.
This is Woden on a Saturday morning, piston punches and a room full of people who kept going.
It runs Saturdays 8.30am at Woden, as well as other times through the week.
Come and try a complimentary class.
Canberra Martial Arts & Fitness
From one Martial Art in a small room, to 5 styles + fitness across multiple locations. We love it!
Since opening with 3 students in 2011, we've grown to over 190 students training every week. Hapkido (Self Defence), Kumdo (Korean Sword) and Women's Self Defence - it's an amazing place to get your martial arts fix.
At three and four years old, sitting still isn't really possible yet.
So Tiny Tigers doesn't ask for it.
Every skill gets taught through play first — balance, focus, listening — dressed up as being a T-rex, a bug, or even a turtle.
Animal shapes turn the foundational movements every martial art is built on into a game a three or four year old actually wants to play.
A child who can hold a bear crawl for ten seconds has already built the same focus they'll need for everything else on the mat.
This is Tiny Tigers at Woden, squirrel into T-rex, turning early coordination into something that feels like nothing but fun.
It runs Mondays 4pm and Saturdays 8.15am at Woden.
Come and try a complimentary class.

This brings a whole new meaning to I have your back.
A kid on the wrong end of a back control shouldn't be smiling, but these two couldn't stop.
That's the bit we love — they know exactly what to do next.
Youth Brazilian JiuJitsu isn't about escaping panic, it's about learning the sequence calmly enough that panic never gets the chance to show up.
Every class builds one skill on the last, and it's always a proud moment when a student who struggled last week is the one grinning through it this week.
Our Youth Brazilian JiuJitsu class at Woden drilled back control escapes until it stopped feeling scary and started feeling like fun.
Classes run Mondays 5.15pm at Coombs, along with Mondays and Wednesdays 6pm at Woden.
Come and try a complimentary class.

Most women don't book a self-defence course on their own.
They come because someone they trust said "come with me."
She Fights Back – our Women's Self Defence course – runs Saturday 25th July.
Beginner-friendly, hands-on, and the room is full of women who've never done anything like it before.
The daughter about to move out of home.
The sister who walks to her car after a late shift.
The friend who's been meaning to do this for years.
✅ Breaking grips and making distance
✅ Where to strike, and why it works
✅ Reading a situation and shutting it down before it gets physical
✅ What actually happens to your body under stress – and how to work through it
No experience. No fitness base. No uniform.

We had the pleasure of having Jemima Parker do her first reading of her new book “Poppy makes pockets” to the Holiday Program kids today.
So awesome to have another publish author as one of our members, and that our kids here got to hear the book first before anyone else.
Thanks Jemima!
