📢 REMINDER - All ACT public schools are CLOSED this Thursday 11 June 📢
In order to enable industrial action and keep students safe all ACT public schools, including specialist schools and preschools, are CLOSED this Thursday.
The Education Directorate has decided to close schools to students for the day in the interest of student and staff safety.
The Australian Education Union has notified the Education Directorate that its members will take part in protected industrial action on Thursday. We expect a majority of ACT public school staff will participate in the work stoppage, meaning we are unable to confidently plan for safe and appropriate supervision for all students.
Be aware there will be no onsite supervision available for students on Thursday.
If you have any questions or concerns about how this closure impacts your school, please contact your school directly.
We acknowledge that school closures have significant impacts on families and these decisions are not taken lightly. The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff remains our highest priority.

NEWS FROM YEAR 3
As part of our integrated unit on solids, liquids, and gases, we designed and created solar ovens using foil, cling wrap, and black paper. We explored how different materials work together to absorb, reflect, and trap heat energy from the sun. The foil reflected sunlight into the oven, the black paper absorbed heat, and the cling wrap helped keep the warm air inside. This experiment helped us understand how heat can change and move through solids, liquids, and gases in everyday science.
We are usually told not to eat our science experiments… but this time we were happy to make an exception!

Today was our Student Centred Improvement Visit (SCIV) where we welcomed our EEL Stephen, Instructional Mentor and Principal colleagues who spent half the day looking at our school improvement journey in Mathematics. They spent time observing evidence informed pedagogy in classrooms, speaking with learners and speaking with staff and leaders around our Mathematics school improvement journey. Such progress we have made in such a short period of time. It was a positive experience and exciting to have our next steps to support us on our journey as we enhance learning outcomes for our students.
