Did you know that ACT residents that haven't received a driving-related infringement in 5 years can get a discount on licence renewals?! ππ
Not only do you get a gold star for being a safe driver, but you may be eligible for a 30% discount on your next licence renewal!
The 30% discount applies to ACT residents who have not:
βοΈ received a traffic or camera-detected traffic infringement notice
π been convicted of a major offence like drink or drug driving
π been convicted of a motor vehicle-related traffic offence
The discount only applies to certain licence holders. Interstate and overseas licence transfers to ACT licences arenβt eligible. The discount is applied automatically, and your licence renewal notice will tell you if you qualify.

π€ Let's bust the myth that you only need to give way to vehicles on your right at the roundabout π
The rule is actually that you need to give way to any vehicle already in the roundabout, whether they're entering on your right, left or directly opposite you π
It's important to know this and be aware of all vehicles in the roundabout before entering to avoid a crash π

With many Canberrans travelling this long weekend, weβd like to remind everyone to stay safe on our roads.
Put the phone away, wear your seatbelt, slow down and drive to the conditions so everyone can arrive at their destination safely.
π· Double demerits are in effect from midnight tonight until Monday 7 October. This includes demerit points applied to offences detected by road safety cameras such as mobile device detection cameras.
π« You should also not drive after taking any amount of illicit drugs or while under the influence of drugs or alcohol as it impacts your ability to have proper control of the motor vehicle.
β° Allow extra time to get to your destination and remember to take regular breaks, rest when tired, drive to the conditions, and be patient during expected periods of congestion on the road.
We all have a responsibility to keep our roads safe. Learn more at: https://bit.ly/3DIEnLu
