"It has shaped the kind of practitioner I want to become - someone who provides care that makes every person feel seen and heard."
- Thuendel Choden | Master of Nursing, Edith Cowan University (ECU)
Earlier this month, ten nursing and midwifery students joined healthcare professionals, researchers, educators and policy makers from across Australia for the Australian Pharmacy Council's Interprofessional Colloquium. Together they explored what culturally safe, inclusive healthcare looks like in practice and what it means for the communities they will one day serve.

Today, on International Nurses Day, we celebrate the nurses who show up every day across hospitals, aged care, primary health and remote communities delivering safe, compassionate and person-centred care.
Celebrated each year on 12 May, International Nurses Day recognises the extraordinary contribution nurses make to the health and wellbeing of communities around the world.
This year's theme, Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives, highlights the importance of investing in and strengthening the nursing workforce to improve health outcomes and help address the world’s biggest health challenges.
At Anmac, supporting a strong, capable and culturally responsive nursing workforce is at the heart of what we do. From setting education standards and accrediting programs to assessing the skills of overseas-born nurses joining Australia’s health system.
Today, we also recognise and thank the nurses within our own organisation for the expertise, leadership and experience they bring to our work every day. Thank you to all nurses for the important difference you make in the lives of individuals, families and communities every single day.
