For the next two weeks, we're excited to welcome some special guests to Throsby…a Hatching Chicks Program! 🐣✨
We'll be caring for a number of eggs and newly hatched chicks, giving the children the opportunity to observe, interact with, and learn from them each day.
This hands-on experience allows children to authentically explore the chick hatching process and develop an understanding of what it takes to care for animals — all while enjoying plenty of adorable cuddles along the way.
It's always a much-loved experience for the children, educators, and families alike!

With Easter just around the corner, we’ve been hosting a fun competition for our families. In the foyer, you’ll find a jar brimming with chocolate eggs—simply guess how many are inside, and the closest (or exact!) answer wins the entire prize!
Children and families are all welcome to participate, with one guess per person to keep things fair. We’ve received a wonderfully wide range of guesses so far, and it’s been fun hearing the creative ideas—especially from the children!
The winner will be announced on Thursday, giving plenty of time to enjoy the reward over the long✨

Meet our Crocs Team!
Our Crocs Team supports our energetic and curious 4–5 year olds as they learn, explore and grow together. This vibrant room is always buzzing with creativity and discovery — from art projects, hypothesising and researching ideas, to learning games with rules and tackling physical challenges.
We also love the community, recently organising excursions on the light rail into the Gungahlin Town Centre. Other adventures have included trips to Woolworths to shop before returning to bake, bushwalks in the local area, and relaxing yoga sessions at the centre.
We also asked each of these wonderful educators one fun question… what’s their favourite food?

Next up, meet some of our amazing Geckos Team! 🦎
The Geckos room is thoughtfully designed for children aged approximately 16 months to 2 years. It’s a busy, engaging environment where children begin to want independence, form early friendships (complete with the occasional disagreement and plenty of associated negotiation opportunities!), and explore the world around them.
Our educators are kept on their toes reading well-loved books again…and again…and again, supporting their language and encouraging the development of physical skills as confidence and ability grow — including gently redirecting those skills to more appropriate spaces (why is the table always so tempting to climb?). The Geckos children also have a strong love for messy play — and in this room, almost anything can (and does!) become a messy play adventure!
The question we asked each of these educators was: What is your favourite TV show? 📺

Meet our Frogs Team!
The Frogs Team proudly supports our 3–4 year olds in a space designed to reflect their growing independence and capabilities. With a different educator-to-child ratio than our Turtles room, this environment recognises just how much children develop by the time they reach three.
Dramatic play and friendships truly flourish in here as children visit, re-enact and role model real life experiences. Conversations are rich and ongoing, stories are shared with enthusiasm, and as imaginations expand, so to do the tales they create!
Our educators can often be found teaching and facilitating group games, nurturing curiosity, and building children’s confidence—both indoors and outdoors.
We asked each of them one fun question: “What is your dream holiday destination?” ✈️🌴

Our children have been learning about Lunar New Year 🎉, a celebration observed in many countries including China, Korea and Vietnam. With support from Owen, Eva and Sung, who shared experiences from their time in China and South Korea, the children explored traditions connected to this special occasion.
They recorded wishes for the year ahead, learnt about the significance of the Horse 🐴 for 2026, created their own paper hanbok, played the Korean game Jegichagi, explored Chinese writing, made dumplings and used art to create lanterns and fireworks. These hands‑on experiences helped build their understanding of culture, belonging and community ❤️.

Meet our Turtles Team! 🐢
Our Turtles Room is designed for toddlers aged 2–3 years and is a lively, nurturing space where language truly comes to life. This room buzzes with conversations, emerging vocabulary, and shared stories, alongside important learning moments around toileting, independence, and the occasional big feelings that come with growing up. It’s also where friendships flourish as children begin to engage in meaningful, collaborative play.
A day in Turtles can look wonderfully different from moment to moment — educators might be painting with children one minute, kicking balls the next, then settling into a tea party or helping gather water for mud-pie creations the next. The children enjoy access to the senior yard, embracing its challenges, adventures and space, and begin using the dining room as part of their growing independence.
We asked the Turtles educators to share what their favourite time of the year is…✨

Meet our Joeys Team!🥰
This amazing group cares for the youngest children in our service, supporting little ones through meals and rest, singing every nursery rhyme imaginable, and sharing countless rounds of peek-a-boo.
Most importantly, they provide gentle, nurturing care during what is often a child’s first big transition away from family. We asked each educator one question:
“What’s your favourite thing to do when you’re not at 360 Throsby?”
Swipe to see their answers and get to know the team!
