Inspiring and informative article by historian Keira Lindsay demonstrating early political activist work by Australian women ๐๐ป๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐
โThe colonial archive has encouraged us to assume only men were involved in the push for greater political freedoms in Australia. These โladies petitionsโ confirm that thousands of Sydney women were not only present at the birthday of Australian democracy, but determined to play a role in its future.โ
Sydney's 9,189 'sister politicians' who petitioned Queen Victoria
A newly-discovered petition from 1850 provides rare evidence of what might be women's first moment of political activism in Australia.

Is there a growing stigma surrounding full-time motherhood? Julia Kokic explores the issue and the sacrifices of full-time mothers:
"My mum will never be on the front of TIME magazine, but she is also worthy of celebration. As women, we ought to build each other up, not tear each other down. Whether itโs just work or just motherhood or both combined, we all need to support each otherโs endeavours. We canโt just be uplifting of one type of woman, but all women. That is the true mark of feminism."
