What a fantastic start to Term 3 at Lomandra School! π
We were excited to come together for our first assembly of the term to celebrate and recognise the wonderful achievements of our students.
It was a great opportunity to acknowledge those who consistently demonstrate our school values by being **safe, respectful learners**, as well as celebrating students who are achieving personal wins in **integration** at their mainstream school and are making great progress in their learning.
We are incredibly proud of all our students and look forward to another term of learning, growth, and success together. Well done to everyone who received an awardβkeep up the amazing work! ππ

Today, we say a fond farewell to our long serving GA, Dean! π
Dean started his journey with us at Lomandra School as an SLSO, dedicating his time to supporting our students and helping them connect with apprenticeships across various trades. Over the years, he has truly transformed our school environment, beautifying our gardens with a wonderful variety of plants and breathing new life into our vegetable garden. πΏπ
Thank you for everything, Dean. You have left a lasting mark on our school, and we will miss you immensely!

This week, our students celebrated NAIDOC Week through a range of engaging and meaningful activities that recognised and honoured Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and achievements.
Students enjoyed making and tasting traditional damper, completing collaborative puzzle artworks, exploring mint-scented sensory playdough, and participating in a creative serpent activity inspired by important cultural stories and symbols.
These hands-on experiences provided wonderful opportunities for learning, creativity and connection, while encouraging students to celebrate and appreciate the rich cultures of First Nations peoples. We are proud of the enthusiasm and respect our students showed throughout the celebrations.
