St Thomas More Catholic Primary School, Ruse

Yesterday, our Year 6 students celebrated a special Mass with the Bishop alongside five local Catholic schools. It was a special opportunity to come together in faith, reflect on their years of learning, and look ahead to the next chapter of their education.

A great day at the South West Regional Oztag Tournament. Four teams all played extremely well and represented our school exceptionally!
Big shout out to the Year 3/4 girls team who made the final, and now progress onto the Champions of Champions NSW tournament in August.

This National Reconciliation Week, our STM community went "All In"! 🖤💛❤️ 💙💚🤍

We gathered for grade prayers, engaged in hands-on classroom activities, and were absolutely thrilled to welcome our families to join us in cultural experiences. Together, we are taking active steps toward understanding, respect, and reconciliation.

National Simultaneous Storytime is an annual event where children across Australia read the same Australian picture book at the same time. In 2026, NSS took place on Wednesday 27 May at 12:00pm, and STM students enjoyed reading and learning about Luna Roo!

Today marked the official launch of our STM School-Wide Buddy Program, and the energy across the school was incredible. This initiative is all about building a supportive community where every student has a familiar face to look up to.
Our first session was all about “Getting to Know You,” focussing on building relationships based on safety and trust. It was wonderful to see our older students stepping into their roles as mentors!

Our New Buddy Teams:
• Kindergarten ❤️ Year 4
• Year 1 🤝 Year 5
• Years 2 & 3 ⭐ Year 6

These simultaneous, co-taught sessions will happen regularly, each with a unique focus to help our students grow together.

We can’t wait to see these friendships flourish!

Mother’s Day – Part 1

A fabulous morning full of fun, laughter and special memories! STM had it all on Friday — gardening 🌱, painting 🎨, beading ✨, dancing 💃, colouring 🖍️ and even knitting 🧶!

Thank you to all our amazing mums, grandmothers and mother figures for joining us for such a joyful celebration. We loved sharing this special time with you! 🌸

Yesterday, we proudly celebrated the official blessing and opening of our incredible $9.18 million facilities upgrade.

These beautiful new learning spaces are more than just buildings, they are places where curiosity will grow, friendships will flourish, and bright futures will begin.

A special day of celebration, gratitude and excitement for the future of learning at STM!
