Wow what a busy week here at MWLP HQ with our second Business Services hub of the year!
Throughout the week students engaged in a range of business administration related activities to create a special Family Fun Day project for Camp Quality. Working in groups they drafted an event plan, created budgets, built a website, undertook risk assessments and delivered a presentation.
Students also had the opportunity to undertake a careers workshop with Emma from My Gateway where they learnt all about resume writing and undertook mock interviews. Thanks so much Emma for your time and knowledge, we know the students will be better prepared for job applications after your workshop.
We also headed out by bus to visit our amazing host employer Tia at WOTSO Gregory Hills to learn about different types of businesses and what shared working spaces look like. Thanks again for having us Tia it's such a great new facility you have there!
Whilst their project work was a big part of the week, students also took part in a number of interactive activities including Kahoot quizzes (they also created their own), 5 minute pitches about random objects and an Office Crisis Challenge where they had to prioritise office emergencies.

A couple of weeks ago we had the pleasure of attending the Oran Park High School Subject Selection Evening, where we had the opportunity to speak with Year 10 students and their families about Work Placement requirements for Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses.
It was fantastic to see the strong interest in VET courses at OPHS, with students having access to a range of onsite courses including Allied Health, Construction, Entertainment and more. These opportunities allow students to gain valuable industry skills and experience while still at school, providing them with career pathway options for when they leave school.
We were lucky enough to be set up alongside ITeC Academy and TAFE NSW, two organisations we work closely with, to support students on their education journey.
The evening was filled with great conversations, enthusiasm and excitement as students explored VET course options and where this pathway can take them.
A big thank you to Oran Park High School for having us, we look forward to continuing to support students as they plan for their future.

Another day, another Business Services hub!
This week we are hosting students from Sarah Redfern High School, James Meehan High School, John Therry Catholic College, Rosemeadow, Magdalene Catholic College, Narellan, Picton High School, St Patrick's College for Girls Campbelltown and Oran Park High School.
The first day is always the hardest, but there’s no better way to get started than by getting to know each other with some fun icebreaker games like Two Truths One Lie and Guess Who?
In the afternoon, the students split into groups and got started planning their projects for the week. We can’t wait to see what they come up with!
We also asked them to create a social post about their first day to share with you—here are a couple of our favourites!

What an incredible week our Business Hub students had last week! While we'd love to fit everything into one post it would be way too long so here are some of the highlights:
🔹Monday - Students got to know one another and began working on a special group project for Camp Quality .
🔸Tuesday - Jenna from My Gateway delivered a careers workshop, where students participated in mock interviews, resume-building activities, and career quizzes.
🔹Wednesday - Students visited two of our amazing host employers. At CEO Rajesh shared insights into the IT industry and the opportunities created through automation. They also visited Superior Training Centre - International and Domestic Students in Ingleburn to learn about business administration roles, course options and career pathways, and had a look at their training facilities.
🔸Thursday - The community team from Zhi Soon MP's office facilitated a workshop exploring democracy, government decision-making, and how individuals can have their voices heard.
🔹Friday - Students presented their Camp Quality Family Fun Day project to MWLP staff at our Campbelltown office. Working in groups throughout the week, they developed an event plan, selected inclusive activities and venues, and created websites to showcase their ideas before presenting them to MWLP staff at our Campbelltown office.
A big thank you to Jenna from My Gateway, Rajesh and the team at Automatorr, Angelique and the team at Superior Training Centre, and Sarina and her team from Zhi Soon MP's office. Your support, insights, and workshops helped create a valuable and memorable experience for our students.
We would also like to thank Revesby Workers' Club for the use of their function room to facilitate this hub.
