The UCAT has no negative marking. So, a wrong answer costs nothing more than an unanswered one.

Students who run out of time and leave the last few questions blank are handing back marks they could have had for free just by selecting something before the clock runs out.

It's one of the simplest rules in the exam, and one of the most commonly missed under pressure.

The calculation is simple once a student spots what's actually being asked. The difference between two percentages of the same total, not a percentage of a percentage.💡

In a MedPrep session, when a student gets a question wrong, the tutor can see the working. 📚

They can identify whether the error came from misreading the question, applying the wrong method, or running out of time.

Each of those has a different fix. 🎯

A recording can explain the right answer. It cannot work out why a specific student got it wrong.

Students who choose Can't Tell when they're personally uncertain are using the option incorrectly.

Can't Tell means the passage does not provide enough information to confirm or deny the statement.

The student's uncertainty is irrelevant.

If the passage addresses the statement at all or even partially then the answer is True or False. 🎯

A student who sits test after test without reviewing what went wrong is repeating their mistakes. Not fixing them.

If a group fills before you enrol, the situation is you wait for the next intake, usually about a year away.

But the real cost isn't the wait itself. It's what that year was for.⏳

A student who starts Headstart in Year 10 has two full years to build the skills gradually, before any exam pressure hits.

Miss that window, and the same student starts in Year 11 instead - a year less runway, learning the same skills at the same time as everything else Year 11 and 12 already demand.

The wait doesn't just push back a start date. It shrinks the amount of time your child gets to prepare without pressure.
