Recently, our incoming Student Leadership Team attended the Leaders Retreat at Mt Carmel Retreat Centre.

The retreat provided our student leaders with a dedicated space for formation, reflection, and leadership development. Throughout the experience, the team strengthened their understanding of servant leadership and explored how to best serve and support our College community.

Collaboration was a key focus, with the students working together to brainstorm and develop inspiring new initiatives for their leadership journey ahead.

Please join us in wishing our incoming leaders all the best as they prepare to step into these important roles and bring their vision to life!

20 Years. 1,500 Blankets. Countless Warm Hearts🧶❤️

2006 gave us Twitter, the Nintendo Wii, and YouTube... but right here at St Patrick’s College, a much quieter event began that would go on to make an extraordinary difference in our community.

This year, we are proudly celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the St Pat’s Knitting Group!

Founded in 2006 by former RE Coordinator Mrs Leonie Pearce, the group started with a simple mission: knit handmade blankets for the St Vincent de Paul Society to support vulnerable members of the Macarthur community. Two decades later, that mission hasn't wavered.

Here is what 20 years of community action looks like:
✨ 1,500+ blankets crafted and donated
✨ Comfort provided to women fleeing domestic violence, people experiencing homelessness, aged care residents, and refugees
✨ Hundreds of students giving up their lunchtimes to knit for others
✨ Generational impact, including past student member Mrs Chanlina Lam returning to St Pat's as a teacher!

Every blanket carries a tag that reads "Handmade with love by the St Patrick’s Knitting Group", a gentle reminder to the recipient that someone cared enough to make something just for them.

A very special mention and thank you goes to Mrs Fran Musico-Rullo, who jumped at the chance to help as a young teacher back in 2006 and has been involved since the very beginning. As our long-standing Knitting Group Coordinator, her unwavering efforts, passion, and leadership have kept this group thriving for 20 years!

A huge, heartfelt thank you to our legendary "Knitting Ladies" including foundational champions Maureen McCann, Lorraine St John, Maureen O'Brien, Janine McLeod, Shirley Mills, and the late Maxine Evans as well as the dozens of past staff, volunteers, and College Principals who have supported us over the last two decades.

Here’s to 20 years of warmth, community, and making a difference - one square at a time!

Our debaters took to the stage last Friday night at St Vincent's College, Ashfield, for the CSDA Grand Final, and what a night of debating it was!

A huge congratulations to our Year 8 team: Capri, Polly, and Siena, who won their debate against Marcellin College, Randwick, to rightfully earn the title of Year 8 CSDA Champions for 2026! Congratulations also go to our Year 10 team: Clara, Abbygael, and Ruby, who were narrowly defeated by Rosebank College, Five Dock, in a tight split-decision debate. All six young women were phenomenal, and they represented our College with exceptional skill and grace.

To top off a fantastic season, our strong collective performance throughout the preliminary rounds has secured our debating community the Junior Aggregate Shield for the third year in a row! This award is a true testament to the commitment and hard work of every single debater.

Congratulations again to our girls. We are incredibly proud of you all! 🏆🌟👏

CSDA Grand Final here we come! Last Friday night, our debating community proudly hosted the CSDA Semi Final, gathering schools from right across Sydney.

Our talented Year 8 team (Capri, Polly, and Siena) defeated St Andrew's Marayong, and our Year 10 team (Clara, Abbygael, and Ruby) defeated John Paul II Schofields. This has earned both teams a well-deserved place in this Friday's Grand Final, to be hosted by St Vincent's Ashfield.

This competition embraces 93 teams in each year group across Greater Sydney, and our debaters are now in the top two of their respective grades. This is a significant achievement and a testament to the girls' talent, tenacity, and dedication.

Year 8 will meet Marcellin Randwick, and Year 10 will face Rosebank Five Dock. Congratulations girls, wishing you every success for the Grand Final. We are all very proud of you!
