In commemoration of the martyrdom of the leader of the women in paradise, Sayyeda Fatima Zahra (PBUH), we held an assembly that involved an insightful presentation by one of our teachers and beautiful eulogies and poems presented by our students.

May our Lord’s peace and blessings be upon our radiant role model and her esteemed family. May we all strive towards attaining her beautiful attributes inshallah.

Taha Academy’s Segregated Teaching Session

As students reach the age of bulugh, there are many new experiences and changes they go through that can scare or confuse them. Every year, we hold segregated sessions that give us an opportunity to discuss these changes and provide a space for our students to feel comfortable in.

A special guest, brother Nasser, facilitated the boy’s discussion, and our girl’s session included many different topics presented, as well as decorating cupcakes for all to enjoy. Hygiene-based packages were provided to support our students as they begin this new phase of their lives. Education on these matters is important for our youth, so that they may confidently address these changes with the appropriate awareness and understanding.

On Saturday, we celebrated the Mawlid of Prophet Muhammad. We were blessed with the opportunity to come together and share our love for our beloved Prophet.

The day involved a variety of games, activities, delicious food and a competitive game of Jeopardy to test our knowledge of the Mercy of Mankind! We hope that our dear families and friends enjoyed a beautiful Mawlid al-Nabi.

In commemoration of the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (as), Taha Academy will be holding a Majlis A’za. Please refer to the poster for more details.

As we enter the sacred month of Muharram, it is important for us to recognise the sacrifice of Imam Hussain on the battle of Karbala; a sacrifice that saved the religion of Islam. There are so many lessons that we can learn from the tragedy of Karbala, like the importance of standing up against corruption, seeking forgiveness and forgiving others, and so many more valuable lessons.

This Saturday, our teachers and students shared their own beautiful reflections of the sacrifice of Imam Hussain. These were presented through a presentation, Qur’an recitations, poetry and eulogies. It was beautiful to be able to come together to express our respect through our sharing of knowledge in our symbolic black attire.

Over the past weeks, Sister Batool and her class have been practicing a beautiful play to demonstrate the auspicious event of Mubahala to their peers.

Mubahala is a significant event in Islamic history that highlighted the Ahlulbayt’s authority and their status in the eyes of Allah. Our students beautifully showcased this momentous day while teaching their peers the beauty of standing for one’s own belief and faith in Allah (swt).

Our first day back at Taha Academy for term 2!

It was a blessing to welcome our students again and for them to be among their friends and increase their knowledge on our beautiful religion. They enjoyed returning to their classes, with our younger students having lots of fun playing with educational puzzles.

Our students learnt so much about the important of attaining an education from a presentation by one of our dear teachers, and we would also like to conclude with congratulating this week’s award recipients for their dedication and achievement.

We can’t wait to see our students again next week Inshallah!
