Year 4 had an absolute blast on their excursion last Friday to the Australian Wildlife Sanctuary in Bargo. We spotted iconic Emis and got a close look at some energetic Tasmanian Devils. The students showed incredible bravery while marveling at some slithering snakes and experienced the charm of a Tawny Frogmouth named Terry.

Year 3 had an an exciting day at the Wolllongong Science Centre! Students enjoyed hands on learning experiences, explored the wonders of space in the Planetarium as they journeyed through the planets and watched an exciting STEM show. It was a fantastic opportunity to spark curiosity, ask questions and discover the amazing world of science.

Last Friday, Year 2 had their excursion to the Rocks. The rain stayed away for most of our visit. We walked many steps and visited lots of buildings from the past. Our tour guides spoke to us about how people lived in Sydney many years ago. We decided that we love our “now” but enjoy learning about our history. Thank you Y2 for representing St John’s so well - you should all be very proud!

On Sunday, 10 May we will celebrate Mother's Day. We are thankful for and honour the incredible mothers, grandmothers, and maternal figures who shape our lives with such selfless grace. We wish all the wonderful women in our school and parish community a truly blessed and restful Mother’s Day.
As a community we celebrated this special day on Friday, 8 May at 12:45pm with a liturgy and picnic lunch. A special thank you to our Year 2 students and teachers for leading us in a special Mother’s Day liturgy. Thank you also to our P & F and volunteers who did an outstanding job with the Mother’s Day stall and the stunning balloon arch. Thanks finally to all the parents, grandparents and friends who were able to celebrate with us.
