As part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations, we welcomed Uncle Ron to our school on Friday, 24 July. Uncle Ron shared the Platypus Teaching, along with cultural music and dance, providing our students with a wonderful opportunity to learn about and celebrate Aboriginal culture.

Be sure to stop by the office to admire our amazing NAIDOC collage, created by our talented students. We are proud to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and achievements as a school community.

Students across all CCPS classes have been creating art depicting threatened Australian species. As well as drawing and painting, students had to read about and then write about their chosen species.

This year, Campbells Creek Primary School including Guildford Campus Primary School outperformed similar schools across all five NAPLAN domains, demonstrating the impact of high-quality teaching, student effort and strong partnerships with our families.

These results reflect the dedication of our students, the expertise and commitment of our teachers and education support staff, and the ongoing support of our families. Together, we continue to create an environment where every child is challenged, supported and encouraged to achieve their personal best!

Congratulations to our Year 5 students on this wonderful achievement. We look forward to seeing all that they continue to accomplish.

During the last week of Term 2, our Grades 4-6 students presented their Astronaut Space Control, worked on with Jens as part of a Creative Arts Project.

"Wow", "amazing" and "clever" are just a few of the descriptive words that came to mind! A big thanks to Jens for all his work, in helping our students learn so many new skills.

CODE ORANGE!! CODE ORANGE!!
This afternoon, our school successfully conducted a lockdown in classrooms (emergency evacuation drill, including locking and hiding classrooms.) We completed the process in just 5 minutes and 2 seconds!
We commend our entire school community for their outstanding cooperation and commitment to safety. Everyone demonstrated our School-Wide Positive Behavior Support expectation of ‘Being Safe’ by being calm and responsible.
Practicing these important procedures helps ensure we’re prepared for any situation. Great job, everyone!

While our students completed their dictation work today, we couldn't help but compare it with this incredible dictation sample from 18 June 1888 — 138 years ago!

How amazing is it that we have access to original student work from so long ago? It offers a unique glimpse into school life, learning, and handwriting from a completely different era. The similarities and differences between then and now make for a wonderful reminder that learning has always been at the heart of our school community.

We feel incredibly fortunate to be custodians of such rich history. 💛💙📖
