The children enjoyed a funny and memorable dramatic play experience when an educator pretended to be unwell. They quickly became little doctors, using the hospital corner to check their “patient,” give pretend medicine and place bandages to help her feel better. 👩‍🏫 Children Extending Their Learning Through Role Play!

The children were very excited when we introduced the yellow and green rice sensory bucket. They explored the rice using funnels, jars, measuring spoons, wooden spoons, and glass bottles with different openings. Some children poured rice through the funnels, while others used their hands and spoons to scoop, fill, and empty the bottles.

Today, our little ones had so much fun engaging in a hands-on sensory experience using natural materials on the tuff tray. With water, leaves, bark, flower petals, soil, and sand available, they explored freely, mixing, pouring, and creating whatever they imagined. ✨

Using spoons, shovels, bowls, cups, and jars, the children demonstrated creativity, curiosity, and problem-solving as they combined different textures and natural elements. 🌱 This open-ended play activity supported imaginative play, fine motor development, and a deeper connection with the natural environment, allowing each child to express their ideas in their own unique way. 💚

The children took part in a creative and imaginative two-part experience. They began by painting boxes white using paintbrushes, sponges, and a variety of other tools, exploring different textures and ways to apply the paint. Once the boxes had dried, the excitement continued as the children used the pieces to build their very own rocket ship! They worked together to stack, arrange, and design, bringing their ideas to life through teamwork and imagination. It was amazing to see their creativity grow from painting into construction and storytelling, as they pretended to blast off into space.

After all the colourful, messy fun, it was time to clean up!
Once the paint had dried from a previous painting activity, the children came back ready to scrub the tuff tray using sponges, soap, and water. They had so much fun working together, using their strength to scrub away the paint and watched it slowly disappear. There were lots of giggles and proud moments as they took responsibility for their environment and helped restore the space. It was a great hands-on experience that supported teamwork, independence, and a sense of care for our learning space.
