Athletics is such a wonderful way for preschool-aged children to build confidence, coordination, balance, strength and gross motor skills. All while having fun, making friends and discovering what their little bodies can do!
Edgeworth Little Athletics registrations are now OPEN, and their Tiny Tots program is a fantastic introduction for our littlest athletes. It’s a great opportunity for children to find their feet, explore their physical abilities and develop a love for being active in a fun and supportive environment.
And what better way to get our children moving than by supporting a wonderful local community organisation!
If you have a little one who loves to run, jump, throw, climb and MOVE, Tiny Tots could be the perfect place to start! 🏃
Get involved, get active and support local!

The research is clear 📚 reading aloud is one of the most powerful things we can do for our children.

When we read with a child, we’re doing far more than sharing a story. We’re building the foundations for language, confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

Decades of research shows that children who are read to regularly:

💛 Build stronger language skills
Hearing rich varied language in books exposes children to far more words than everyday conversation alone. This growing vocabulary helps them understand, communicate and make sense of the world.

💛 Develop early literacy skills long before they learn to read
Through stories, children learn how books work – that print carries meaning, that pages turn left to right, and that stories have a beginning, middle and end. These early understandings make learning to read feel familiar and exciting.

💛 Strengthen phonological awareness
Rhymes, rhythms and playful sounds help children hear the building blocks of language.

💛 Grow their comprehension and thinking skills
Talking together about a story, predicting what might happen, wondering how a character feels, and connecting events to real life helps children develop memory, problem-solving, and higher-order thinking.

💛 Experience connection, comfort and joy
Shared reading fosters calmness, closeness, and moments of joint attention. These warm interactions support a child's sense of security and belonging.

Most importantly, children who experience positive, engaging reading moments from a young age are more likely to develop a genuine love of books - something that matters even more than early literacy skills alone.

Reading is simple, joyful, and sets children up for success in school and life.

Last week we had the absolute best time welcoming Officer Jason and Officer Alyce from Toronto Police Station into our centre!
They brought lots of excitement, big smiles, and two incredibly cool patrol cars for our inquisitive learners to explore.

The children loved testing the highway patrol radio, checking out the beach vehicle, and trying on fun dress-ups to become mini officers themselves!

Inside, we joined a short, interactive safety chat where we learnt that police officers are safe helpers who are always here to look after us.

A massive thank you to Toronto Police Station for being such fantastic community partners! 👮‍♂️👩‍✈️

During March our centre went through the Assessment and Rating process where the Early Childhood Education Commission visited. Authorised officers spent the day observing our day to day practice and reviewing our practices across the 7 Quality Areas of the National Quality Standard.
We are so excited to share that our centre has achieved an EXCEEDING rating in 6 out of the 7 Quality Areas of the National Quality Standard.

An Exceeding rating means a centre is not only meeting the National Quality Standard — they're going above and beyond in their practice, relationships and commitment to children’s learning and wellbeing. It’s a reflection of incredible teamwork, passion and dedication to delivering high-quality early learning every single day.

This is a huge achievement for our centre and is a testament to the dedication, passion, experience and high-quality education and care each and every educator embodies.

Thank you to all of our wonderful families who choose our centre for the education and care of your precious children. Your ongoing support, trust and belief is the foundation for our centres strong family connections. We are so proud of the community we have made here at Goodstart Cameron Park.

We’re often asked what being not-for-profit really means for our families.

Simply put, it means that our purpose always comes before profit. Every dollar we make is reinvested back into our centres, to provide children with enriching and safe learning environments.

We understand how important it is for children to be in a place where they feel safe and settled. And when families need to make a change - planned or unexpected - we’re here to help make that transition easier.

We’re here to support families when it matters most – because every child deserves a Goodstart! ✨
