Year 4 Science -
Our Year 4 students have been exploring how water changes between solid, liquid and gas and how these changes are connected to the water cycle. To investigate, students created their own miniature water cycles using clear zip-lock bags, water and blue dye. After drawing the water cycle on their bags and placing them on a sunny window, students observed the changes taking place over several days. They watched as water evaporated, condensation formed, and droplets collected to create their own mini 'rain'. Students recorded their observations and used diagrams and notes to explain the process. It was a fantastic hands-on way for our students to see the water cycle in action and develop their scientific understanding.

- Year 5 Ultimate Frisbee -
For the past four weeks, our Year 5 students have enjoyed Ultimate Frisbee sessions, developing their skills while learning more about this fun, fast-paced sport. We would like to thank Sporting Schools for supporting these sessions through their grant program and giving our students the opportunity to try something new, stay active, and develop their teamwork and sporting skills. It has been wonderful to see our Year 5 students get involved, have fun, and embrace the challenge!

- Western Region Gala Day -
Last Thursday, 194 students across 18 teams attended the Western Region Gala Day at Picton. We had a wonderful day playing soccer against teams from across the Highlands. It was fabulous to see so many students enjoying the games, developing their skills and, for some, experiencing a soccer game for the very first time. A huge thank you to our parent volunteers and staff for their assistance and support throughout the day. Events like this would not be possible without your time and commitment, and we truly appreciate your contribution. Well done to all our students for representing our school with enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

- Year 4 Science -
Our Year 4 students have been exploring the different states of matter and the properties of solids, liquids and gases. Students investigated the unique properties of oobleck, a mixture of cornflour and water, and observed how it can behave like both a solid and a liquid depending on the force applied. Through this hands-on experiment, students discovered that some materials can be difficult to classify and may have unique properties. It was wonderful to see our students get involved, make observations, and develop their scientific understanding through practical investigation.
