It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Uncle Ivan Wellington, a much-loved and respected Elder and a familiar face in schools across Dharawal.

He generously shared his time, wisdom, stories and passion for culture with so many young people and educators. Through his warmth, humour and generosity, he encouraged connection, strengthened understanding and helped young people build a deeper appreciation for culture and community.

Our students were privileged to work alongside him in the design and planting of our Yarning Circle, and to share many a yarn with him over the years. But his impact reached far beyond any one school. His stories, guidance and generosity have touched countless students, staff and communities across Dharawal.

A truly special Elder whose knowledge, kindness and love for culture will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Rest easy Uncle Ivan. Your stories live on.

To end off science week 30 Year 9 students attended the Sydney Science Trail.. 🌿

The day started at the Sydney Royal botanic gardens where the students conducted a hands on Seed Banking experiment.

Students then attended a talk with guest speakers who spoke about extinctions, diversity, population, data collection, surveying, samples collection and techniques, statistics and crime scenes.

Students were then off to the Australian museum where they attended a science expo and met with universities, government and private educational groups, and stem companies.

Students ended the day with a forensic workshop where they had to try and solve 6 cases.

Science Week - Photography Competition 🌱📸
These are the entries for the science week photography competition.
Students took photos to submit into the competition, they had to describe how the photo linked to science and the science week theme Seeds of science: Nurturing knowledge for all!

Cawdor Public School sent some secret agents to hunt for Seeds of Science on Monday to kickstart Science Week. Some students from 7G and 8G volunteered to buddy up with our visitors, crack the codes and find the hidden Science clues across the school. We look forward to their next visit!

Our School Captains attended the Narellan Business Chamber Breakfast, where they had the opportunity to hear NSW Premier Chris Minns & Sally Quinnell MP speak about the growth of South West Sydney and the important role young people play in shaping our region’s future. It was a valuable opportunity for our student leaders to engage with local issues, connect with community leaders and gain insight into the future of our region.

Sport Selections Spring 2026 (rotation 3)
Year 8, 9 and 10 will complete sports selections for Rotation 3 on Thursday 27/8/26 at 5pm. All students are encouraged to follow the instructions of the attached PDF and complete their selections promptly. Sports will close when they are full and you will have to select something else. Any student who has a prior commitment needs to organise for another trusted adult to complete their selections for them. Any issues please email Mr Brasington [email protected]
