Year 10 and 11 students participated in the Pillars Leadership Program, a three-session initiative designed to support and develop future student leaders. Throughout the program, students explored what it means to lead, reflected on leadership in the Dominican Tradition and considered their own motivations for serving others. They also strengthened their skills in communication, speech writing, organisation, and navigating the challenges of leadership.
We wish all candidates well as they prepare to apply for the 2027 student leadership positions, with College Captain applications opening on Monday 13 July.

Year 12 students recently completed a VO₂ max test, a key measure of aerobic fitness and endurance performance, helping them identify strengths and areas for improvement while exploring personalised training zones. Meanwhile Year 10 Sports Science students took part in practical fitness testing, measuring components including speed, agility, power, strength, endurance, flexibility and coordination. They analysed their results to develop a deeper understanding of the factors that influence sporting performance.
These experiences reflect students’ continued hands-on engagement in fitness and performance learning within Health and Physical Education.

Well done to Kurrajong House for organising a range of fundraisers in support of the Opening the Doors Foundation (ODF). The Siena community enjoyed a bake sale, a chocolate toss and raffle draws, with prizes including Fast Pass canteen vouchers and a Friendship Group Luncheon hosted by House Group teachers.
Students also heard from ODF representative Lisa, who spoke about the organisation's important work in creating greater educational opportunities for First Nations students and families. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make these fundraising initiatives such a success!

Year 7 students have been exploring the fascinating world beneath their feet through a hands-on soil investigation with gardener Lauren. Students headed into the Veritas Precinct to examine soil layers, search for signs of life, compare textures, and discover how soil supports healthy plants and ecosystems. Back in the refurbished Science labs, Mason jar soil tests revealed the different proportions of sand, silt and clay within each sample, helping students understand why soils behave differently.
The activity encouraged students to engage their senses, ask questions and develop a deeper appreciation of soil as a living ecosystem rather than simply 'dirt'.
