Calwell High School Calwell High School is a co-educational high school located in southern Tuggeranong in the ACT. We encourage contributions to the page.

What an incredible way to finish the term!
On Country Learning students brought their best this week, taking on a challenging two-day hike and showing just how much they have grown as a team. There were plenty of laughs, some big challenges, tired legs, and lots of moments to be proud of!
Every student pushed themselves, supported their teammates and kept going when things got tough. What an awesome adventure and incredible achievement by the whole group. Congratulations everyone, hope you have a fantastic and well-deserved term break!

ADVANCED OUTDOOR EDUCATION: CROSS COUNTRY SKIING IN THE SNOWY MOUNTAINS
Our Advanced Outdoor Education pupils had a fantastic time in the Snowy Mountains on their recent cross-country ski trip. The group began their adventure at Smiggins Hole, developing their confidence and skills on the snow before taking advantage of conditions at Perisher when a lift was placed on wind hold.
Throughout the trip, pupils learnt a range of cross-country skiing techniques, including effective turning and controlling their speed on the slopes. The culmination of the experience was seeing pupils confidently and safely ski uphill before making controlled turns as they descended.
There were, of course, a few falls along the way, but these were all part of the learning experience! Most importantly, pupils showed great resilience, supported one another and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of skiing in the beautiful Snowy Mountains.
Next term, the focus will be on abseiling technique and learning about Canyoning in the Blue Mountains. We are looking forward to the last camp of the year!

OUTDOOR EDUCATION NOWRA CLIMBING CAMP

Outdoor Ed 1 students have been taking on the heights in Nowra, tackling 15-metre rock faces, and putting their courage, problem-solving, and teamwork to the test!

There were plenty of big moments as students worked their way up the walls, with many celebrating the triumph of reaching the top. But the biggest achievement was seeing every student give it a go, challenge themselves and push beyond their comfort zones.

From nervous first climbs to reaching the top with huge smiles, it has been fantastic to see students support one another and discover what they are capable of.

What an awesome effort from everyone, well done Outdoor Ed students!
