There are still a few places left to join us this Sunday 7 September at the Queensland Holocaust Museum for a special talk with Natalie Sanandaji, survivor of the Nova music festival massacre.

On 7 October 2023, Natalie narrowly escaped the Hamas attack in Israel that claimed the lives of approximately 1,200 Jews – the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust. Since then, she has dedicated herself to sharing her story and speaking out against hate.

Do not miss this important opportunity to hear directly from Natalie. Book your place now before the event sells out. Ticket includes museum entry.

Exams are approaching. Here are 3 study tips to help students stay focused and feel confident:

✅ Plan your time😊
Use a study timetable to break subjects into smaller topics. Prioritise the areas your child finds most challenging.

✅ Revise actively📖
Reading isn’t enough. Write notes, use flashcards and explain concepts out loud to boost memory and understanding.

✅ Take regular breaks⌚
Short, frequent breaks help the brain recharge. Try 25-minute study blocks with 5-minute rests in between.

How to interpret historical sources 06/08/2025

For History teachers and students 🤗

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1G3URe8FYT/

How to interpret historical sources Interpreting a source requires you to think a bit more about what a source says or shows about a topic. This requires you to identify implicit (‘hidden’ or less obvious) meanings in historical sources. You will need to do this most often with visual sources that take time to interpret.

🧠 What are homophones?

Homophones are words that sound the same but have different meanings and spellings.
For example: knight (a warrior) and night (when it gets dark).

Learning to spot the difference helps children improve spelling, vocabulary and reading comprehension.
