Book Week is in full swing!
Today we were excited to welcome author and publisher Rochelle Stephens (R.A. Stephens) to Caloundra Christian College for a day filled with writing, creativity and plenty of inspiration.
Our Primary students got a behind-the-scenes look at the world of books - learning about the publishing process, life as a writer and publisher, and how science can even be woven into mystery stories. They then put their ideas into action, planning their very own mystery novels.
Later, Rochelle met with 17 of our aspiring Secondary writers. They explored the writing process, editing, publishing and book design, along with plenty of practical tips from someone who knows the industry firsthand.
To finish, students had the opportunity to share their own writing and receive feedback and encouragement from Rochelle.
A wonderful day of learning, creating and encouraging the next generation of storytellers!

Our Year 5 & 6 boys and girls Netball teams had a fantastic day out on Friday at the Sunshine Coast Netball Lightning Cup!
There were plenty of big goals, great teamwork and lots of cheering from the sidelines as our students took on schools from across the Coast.
More than just a day of competition, it was a great opportunity to get out there, have fun, support one another and represent Caloundra Christian College with pride.
Well done, Year 6! What a great day!

Will it float? Will it move? Will it make it across the pool? 👀🚤
There was only one way to find out!
Our students have been busy designing, building and testing their very own paddle boats as the Science Week fun continues at CalCC.
With bottles, rubber bands, wooden spoons and plenty of experimenting, creations moved from the science lab to the testing pool — where the real fun began.
Some sailed. Some spun. Some required a little more engineering. 😄
And that, of course, is exactly how science works.
Build it. Test it. Learn something. Try again. 🧪
