🖤💛❤️ A Morning of Culture, Connection and Learning ❤️💛🖤🌿
Our playground was transformed into a rich learning environment this morning as the children explored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives through hands-on experiences and discovery-based play.
From tracing and creating traditional symbols in the sand, to investigating where bananas come from and learning about native bush foods, the children were encouraged to ask questions, share ideas and connect with the stories of Country. We also explored bush medicine, giving children an opportunity to learn about the important role plants have played in caring for people for thousands of years.
These experiences sparked meaningful conversations, curiosity and respect as children engaged with culture through play, exploration and sensory learning.
We are proud to provide opportunities that celebrate and help children develop an understanding of the culture and connections that continue to thrive today.

🌈 This week our friends explored a hands-on sensory invitation inspired by National Reconciliation Week. Using coloured rice, loose parts, animals, boats and symbol cards, the children were encouraged to explore, create, discover and engage in meaningful conversations through play.
The children loved scooping, pouring and searching through the sensory tray while learning about symbols, patterns and connection to Country. ❤️💛🖤
What a beautiful way to encourage curiosity, fine motor skills and cultural awareness through play-based learning. ✨

🌿❤️ Reconciliation Week at Kindy ❤️🌿
We were incredibly lucky to welcome Alice’s mum, Doreena, to Kindy this morning to share a very special experience with our children for Reconciliation Week.
Doreena read the beautiful story *Our Flag, Our Story* and spoke with the children about the importance and meaning behind the Torres Strait Islander flag. She shared that her uncle designed the Torres Strait Islander flag in 1992 and her cousin wrote the book *Our Flag, Our Story*, making this experience even more meaningful and personal.
Adding to this special moment, Alice proudly wore her beautiful Torres Strait Islander flag dress, matching with her mum, Doreena. The children loved seeing them dressed together, and Alice’s friends especially enjoyed listening to her speak in language with her classmates, creating such a meaningful and engaging cultural experience for everyone involved.
The children were deeply engaged as Doreena used flashcards and encouraged them to say the words in language, creating a wonderful opportunity for learning, connection, and cultural understanding.
A huge thank you to Doreena for sharing her knowledge, culture, and time with us. Experiences like these help our children grow with respect, understanding, and appreciation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. 💛🖤❤️💚💙

🎶 Today was full of music, smiles and fun! 🎶
Miss Ari brought in her guitar to share with our friends and everyone loved having a turn exploring and listening to the different sounds. The children enjoyed singing along, taking turns strumming the strings and joining in during group time.
We even had a special performance from Miss Catherine, who played a few tunes on the guitar for everyone to enjoy! 🎸💜
What a wonderful way to encourage creativity, confidence and a love for music. 😊

We had the privilege of welcoming Googabinj (Craig Kemp) to our centre for a very special cultural experience.
Our children were captivated as they explored Aboriginal culture through storytelling, music, dance and interactive learning. They had the opportunity to listen to the didgeridoo, learn about traditional artefacts, and engage in meaningful conversations about culture, connection to Country, and respect.
It was such a wonderful and engaging experience for our little learners, sparking curiosity, joy and a deeper appreciation for Australia’s rich Indigenous culture and history.
A big thank you to Craig for sharing his knowledge, stories and culture with us in such an inspiring and memorable way. 💛🖤❤️

Today, we pause to remember and honour the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country this ANZAC Day.
We are grateful for the freedoms we enjoy today because of those who came before us.
Lest we forget. 🌺

🌏 Earth Day – Caring for Our Planet Together 🌱
Today we celebrate Earth Day, a special reminder of how important it is to look after the world we live in. 🌿
Earth Day is all about raising awareness of environmental issues and encouraging everyone — big and small — to take part in protecting our planet. From reducing waste to caring for plants and animals, every small action makes a difference.
At our centre, Earth Day is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn about sustainability through hands-on experiences. 🌼 We explore nature, talk about recycling, plant seeds, and encourage respect for the environment in ways that are meaningful and fun.
Early education plays an important role in helping children develop a sense of responsibility and connection to the world around them. By introducing these concepts from a young age, we empower children to become thoughtful, environmentally conscious individuals.
Together, we can nurture a love for nature and help create a greener future for generations to come. 💚
📸 See our amazing experiences from today!
