We’re excited to introduce our new Community Pantry — a little space built on kindness, compassion and looking out for one another. 🫶🏼

The idea is simple:

Our pantry includes a range of food and essential items, as well as children’s clothing, shoes and other useful items for families.

If you have something at home that your family no longer needs and you think another family could use, you’re welcome to contribute. Likewise, if your family needs something from the pantry, please feel free to take it — there is no judgement and no questions asked. ❤️

Sometimes a small act of kindness can make a really big difference.

There has been lots happening in our Toddlers Room at Goodstart Caloundra, with our educators creating inviting, purposeful spaces that encourage our children to explore, imagine, create and learn through play. 🧸💕

Our environment has been thoughtfully arranged to provide a variety of experiences and allow children to follow their own interests and curiosity.

🐄 Farm & Construction Play 🚜
Our farm and construction area encourages children to explore small-world play, problem-solving and imagination. With trains, wooden tracks, blocks, construction materials, vehicles and books about trucks, the children can create their own little worlds and stories.

🏠🍳 Home Corner & Baby Play 👶
Our home corner provides a familiar space where children can engage in pretend play and everyday experiences. Cooking, preparing meals, caring for babies and using familiar household items supports language development, social skills, nurturing behaviours and imagination.

📚🧸 Our Cosy Book & Story Space
We have created a welcoming literacy area with a selection of books easily accessible to the children. The comfortable seating and inviting resources encourage children to explore books independently, enjoy stories together and develop a love of reading. 📖💕

🐶🧩 Puppy & Puzzle Play
Our toddlers have been enjoying caring for our puppy friends, as well as exploring puzzles and hands-on resources. These experiences support fine motor development, concentration, matching, problem-solving and persistence.

🎨🌈 Creative Exploration
Our creative area provides opportunities for the children to explore drawing, mark-making, colours and different materials. The easel and accessible art resources allow children to express their ideas and creativity in their own unique ways.

🪞🌈 Open-Ended & Sensory Experiences
Our environment also includes open-ended resources such as blocks, colourful materials, mirrors, natural textures and manipulatives. These resources allow children to experiment, make choices and discover how things work through hands-on learning.

💙 We believe the environment is another educator, and we love creating spaces where our Toddlers feel safe, confident and inspired to explore. Every area has been designed with opportunities for learning, connection, independence and, most importantly, FUN! 🌟

Every day at Goodstart Caloundra, we thoughtfully create inviting learning spaces that inspire curiosity, creativity and connection. 💛

From obstacle courses that encourage gross motor development and confidence, to imaginative home corner play, sensory playdough experiences, and nature-inspired dramatic play, our environments are designed to support every child’s learning journey.

🍽️ One of today’s favourite experiences was our outdoor restaurant, where children stepped into the roles of chefs, waiters, waitresses and customers. They took orders, prepared and served meals, and worked together to create a fun dining experience. Through this imaginative play, children developed communication skills, early literacy and numeracy, confidence, teamwork and problem-solving, all while having lots of fun!

We believe that play is one of the most powerful ways children learn. Through exploring, creating, pretending and problem-solving, they are developing the skills they’ll carry with them for life.

We’re so proud of the engaging experiences our educators create each day, giving children opportunities to learn, grow and thrive in a safe, nurturing environment. 🌈✨

Our children love getting their hands dirty as they care for our gardens by watering the plants, harvesting fresh beans, collecting fruit scraps for our compost, and exploring how nature works together. They also enjoy observing our worm farm, checking on our native bee hotel, and discovering how compost helps nourish our garden.
These meaningful, hands-on experiences teach our children where food comes from, how to care for our environment, and the importance of reducing waste. Watching the excitement on their faces as they pick vegetables they’ve helped grow is truly something special! 🫛🌼💦
