Kites were launched, ropes were tackled, radios were crackling and there may have been a few tired Year 4 students by the end of the day! 😴

Our Year 4s recently headed off for their Day Camp, spending the day building kites, learning bush skills, navigating their way through Radio Rogaine challenges and taking on the Low Ropes course.

There were plenty of laughs, lots of teamwork and a few students discovering talents they didn't know they had. It was great to see everyone getting involved, encouraging their classmates and giving each activity a go.

A fantastic day outdoors and plenty of memories made!

𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐦, 𝐟𝐒𝐳𝐳, 𝐩𝐨𝐩!

What better way to celebrate National Science Week than with our annual Year 3 Science Fair.

Our Year 3 students proudly welcomed parents along with our Prep to Year 2 classes to showcase their incredible experiments and discoveries. From erupting volcanoes and colourful chemical reactions to exploding balloons and plenty of "wow" moments, there was excitement around every corner.

The fair was a wonderful opportunity for our young scientists to share their learning, explain their investigations and inspire curiosity in others.

A huge congratulations to our Year 3 students for all their hard work and enthusiasm. We think there may have been a few future scientists in the making! πŸ§‘β€πŸ”¬πŸ‘©β€πŸ”¬πŸ’‘

Next week, OLR will celebrate the joy of reading, imagination and storytelling with a week full of fun activities inspired by this year's CBCA theme, Symphony of Stories. πŸŽΆπŸ“–

Students can look forward to daily library activities, special visits from parent authors Elizabeth Pulsford and Kyarna, a scavenger hunt based on Wowee! Look at that Tree! by Ben Knight and our much-loved Book Character Parade.

Families are warmly invited to join us for the Book Character Parade on Thursday 27th August at 9:00am on the basketball courts. Students are encouraged to come dressed as a favourite or new book character and celebrate the amazing stories that inspire them.

Last week, our talented OLR choir students proudly represented our school at the Schools Eisteddfod for the very first time!

We entered three categories: our School Choir, an Ensemble Group and a Duet. While we didn't quite place this year, all three groups performed beautifully and were not far off the placegetters.

A special mention to our School Choir, who were the youngest students in the competition. We are incredibly proud of the courage, commitment and enthusiasm shown by all of our performers.

The good news is you won't have to wait long to hear them! Join us at our Celebration of the Arts on Thursday 17th September, where our choir will once again take to the stage and showcase their wonderful talents.

Well done to all of our choir students! πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸŽΆ

Last week's π”π§ππžπ« 𝐭𝐑𝐞 π’πžπš πƒπ’π¬πœπ¨ was one to remember! πŸͺΌπŸ βœ¨

The dance floor was packed with plenty of smiles, lots of funky dance moves and some fantastic ocean-themed costumes. A huge shout out to .candi4kids who kept the party going all night with an amazing mix of music and energy.

A very special thank you to our incredible PFG volunteers, who worked behind the scenes to organise such a wonderful event for our school community. Events like this simply wouldn't be possible without the time, effort and dedication of our volunteers.

Congratulations also to our lucky door prize winner, who took home a fantastic family pass to SEA LIFE, and to our very deserving Best Dressed Jellyfish on the night! πŸͺΌπŸ†

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a fun-filled evening. We loved seeing so many OLR students and families enjoying the night together!
