Year 10 Students Give Back to Shelley Beach 🏖️

Our Year 10 students recently put their Certificate II in Active Volunteering skills into action, working alongside Sandie Johnston, a Community Conservation Officer, to help care for the local environment.

Volunteering along the Shelley Beach coastline, students worked together to remove painted spurge, a noxious w**d that can threaten native coastal vegetation. The team showed fantastic enthusiasm, teamwork and commitment throughout the morning. 👏

Our volunteers did an amazing job, making a positive contribution to the health and beauty of the Shelley Beach coastline while gaining valuable hands-on volunteering experience.

A huge thank you to Sandie for sharing her knowledge and supporting our students, and congratulations to our Year 10 volunteers for their outstanding efforts! 🙏

Our Cert II in Hospitality Students have been excelling this year learning how to set up for a service for events such as Grandparents Morning Tea and our Athletics Carnival BBQ! 🍽️

The Kairos Tribe all look forward to Frappe Fridays where we marvel at the students' skills at creating mocktails, iced drinks and wonderful coffees! 🧋☕🍹🍸

Earlier this term the Kairos Tribe showed the love for our incredibly hard-working Teacher Aides during Teacher Aide Appreciation Week! 🥰

A special Teacher Aide display was created where staff and students wrote messages of gratitude, and a special presentation of gifts was held during our weekly Tribal Lunch.

Thank you Hayley, Oki, Tanya and Honi for all that you do for Kairos! 🙏💜💚

We would like to give a huge congratulations to Kairos Caloundra teacher, Jake Mangano, who has been named 2026 Educator/Mentor of the Year at last night's Caloundra Community Awards!

This well-deserved recognition reflects the dedication Jake has brought to our students every day at Kairos Caloundra, since he first joined us in January 2022. We're so proud to see his hard work celebrated by the wider community.

Thank you to Kendall Hatcher MP for recognising the incredible educators who go above and beyond for young people, and to Stockland for proudly sponsoring the Educator/Mentor of the Year category.

Congratulations also to all the other finalists, it was a very special night for the entire Caloundra community!

Congratulations to Jake Mangano from Kairos Community College Caloundra for winning the 2026 EDUCATOR/MENTOR OF THE YEAR in the Caloundra Community Awards.

As a former teacher, I think every teacher deserves recognition. Nathan Gunst was a close 2nd from 106 Army Cadet Unit - Caloundra

Other amazing finalists were Shantel Coogan from Caloundra State High School Kaela Stevens from Currimundi Special School Kerry Cuskelly from Young Anglers Education Projects and George Levett from STEPS Pathways College

A huge congratulations to our Year 10s for completing their First Aid Certificates! 👏

They can now assess a situation, apply a bandage, and provide assistance in an emergency. Thankfully, no classmates were harmed in the making of this qualification.
