Navigation training involves learning to read maps, use a flight computer, plan routes, compensate for wind blowing you off track, learning how to get back on track, matching the outside landmarks on the ground to the symbols on the map, keeping time, estimating fuel requirements for the trip and for any unexpected diversions.

Cameron scored a fantastic blue sky today for taking and passing his navigation flight test today. He was helped in his studies by having access to the GoFly Online navigation videos and the navigation and meteorology theory book.

Each year, GoFly Online sponsors the 20+ RAAUs scholarships in June, as well as the 50+ winners of the QLD Aerospace Schools awards with subscriptions in November. This year in May we also gave away 2 subscriptions to lucky pilots attending the Australian Women Pilots' Association (AWPA) conference at Airlie Beach.

If you are going to ask skilled people to help you with your online flight training startup, and not take a wage for 2 or 3 - or maybe even 5 years - you need to have a firm basis of respect and trust, shared goals, a strong belief in the product, a love of red wine... and a white shirt.

This shows my co-founders Jeremy Watson and Thomas Gregg meeting in Brisbane in October 2024, to discuss the next lot of content to be created for GoFly Online, before we took our long-suffering wives to lunch.

GoFly Online are excited to announce that the GoFly Online Flight Training platform has again been shortlisted for the 'Flight Training Business of the Year' category in the annual Australian Aviation Awards. Last year GoFly Online won the 'Startup of the Year' category.

Over the last 12 months new soft and hard copy RPC and Navigation theory books have been added to the site along with new videos and an RPC Course for students to work through. The Awards will be announced at an event in Sydney in early August.
