Weekly Wrap Up – Term 4 Week 2
We had two students attending the State Track and Field Athletics this week – well done Macie and Darnie! Darnie won several gold and a bronze and is off to Nationals now. Amazing effort! We had a team representing Calliope State School at the soccer gala day on Monday. Thanks go to Ms Bell and the wonderful parent supporters. In Year 3A, students have been working hard on our Engagement Norms for Reading. They have nailed Pronounce with Me, Track with Me and Read with Me. All classes are using these engagement norms as part of our reading program. This term Prep A have a theatre set up in their classroom as part of their learning space. We look forward to seeing some interesting shows! This week classroom newsletters were sent home from most classes. These contain information from each teacher as well as important dates for the term. They also have the curriculum overviews for the term. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Weekly Wrap Up – Term 4 Week 1
Welcome back to Term 4! It was a short week, but a productive week. We had several staff attend Reading Professional Development on Tuesday, presented by reading experts from around Australia. Our school focus is on reading this year and our Prep-Year 2 classes were off and running again during their morning session with their phonics focus, with reading and writing links to the curriculum. On Thursday our Year 4 students went on an excursion to Awoonga Dam as part of their HaSS unit and our Year 6 classes work with John from the Queensland Ambulance Service on CPR and the Snakes Alive program. Friday saw our first parade for the term and it was great to see parents and family attending the parade. We farewelled Mrs Longden on Thursday and wish her well. Enjoy the weekend and we will see everyone back on Monday.

Welcome back! 💙 This term, we are focusing on resetting and strengthening our Safe, Respectful and Responsible behaviours both inside and outside the classroom.
🐢 SAFE – Move calmly and look out for others.
🐦 RESPECTFUL – Listen, speak kindly and value others.
🐝 RESPONSIBLE – Own our choices and look after our learning and spaces.
🤝 We’ll also be practising our Kagan strategies to help us listen, take turns and work positively with our classmates.
🌟 Our Term 4 goal:

Weekly Wrap Up - Term 3 Week 10
A busy week to end Term 3. We started with our P&C Fun Run on Monday, with wonderful student participation and some staff ending the day wearing a side of slime! Our RotaKids held their Decorate A Biscuit on Monday as well, raising nearly $200. Great work team! The Verdi strings ensemble visited Thursday afternoon to play for our students. It was lovely having students from other schools visit to share their musical talents. Mrs Betts held our annual skipping competition on Wednesday and Year 2 presented their persuasive speeches to the leadership team about why we need a pet dragon at school and they may have got their wish…maybe smaller than they hoped. Year 1C made their challenge of naming all letters and sounds in one minute this week. Amazing! Friday saw our end of term parade, with students presented with the Principal Awards for their exceptional work throughout the term.
We wish all our families a happy holiday break. We will see you all back on Tuesday 6 October.
