👶 CUE OF THE WEEK — EARLY TIRED CUES

Crying is often a late tired cue.
Catching your baby's earlier signs can sometimes make settling much easier.
You might notice:

🤍 Yawning
🤍 Looking or turning away
🤍 Becoming quieter
🤍 Rubbing their face or eyes
🤍 Fidgeting or becoming restless
🤍 Losing interest in toys or interaction
🤍 Becoming harder to engage

Every baby is different, so over time you'll start recognising your baby's own little signs that say:

“I've had enough. I'm ready for some rest.” 😴

Learning your baby's cues isn't about getting it perfect — it's about gradually getting to know your baby.

Appreciated not expectation.

Today I was reminded of something really important: there’s a big difference between appreciation and expectation.

Expectation is when something is assumed. Appreciation is when someone takes a moment to acknowledge the care, time, and heart that goes into what you do.

After returning from three weeks away, I was surprised with beautiful flowers from one of my daycare families. It wasn’t expected, but it was deeply appreciated.

Being a Family Day Care educator is so much more than simply looking after children. It’s building relationships, creating a safe and nurturing environment, celebrating milestones, wiping tears, sharing laughs, and becoming part of a family’s village. The good and bad times are mine as well as yours

To the families who take the time to say thank you, write a kind message, or make a thoughtful gesture—please know it never goes unnoticed. Feeling appreciated means more than you’ll ever know.

My heart is full today. Thank you. 💐❤️

Utilising relatable adult daily resources and items allows the children to learn how to help out or be gentle with different textures. Giving them the responsibility of learning how to look after tools and get the feel for different types of materials not just plastic toys. We have lots of cuppas and delicious milkshakes.
