Bravo! For the second-year running, the Grin and Tonic Theatre Troupe visited Calliope High to bring Shakespeare to life for our senior English and Film students.
Our students loved watching the professionals and even got to show off their own acting talents on stage! Big thanks to Grin and Tonic for an inspiring day.

And just like that our final morning of Rec Camp.

First up, cleaning out the cabins because apparently the cabins don’t clean themselves. Then it was time for archery tag, where friendships were briefly forgotten and survival instincts kicked in.

We finished with survival skills learning how to cope in the great outdoors which will come in handy after seeing the state of those cabins this morning.

What an amazing few days of adventures, challenges, laughs and memories. We are incredibly proud of how everyone has stepped outside their comfort zones and given everything a go.

Day 2 of Rec camp and the Year 11s and 12s have officially proven they can do it all.

Surfing and boogie boarding. High ropes which definitely pushed a few people well outside their comfort zones. But we couldn’t be prouder of how they faced their fears, encouraged each other and gave it a go.

Tonight was dress up night: come as something starting with the first letter of your name. Year 11 understood the assignment. The costumes were seriously impressive. Trivia and music quiz rounded out the evening, with some very competitive behaviour (teachers included).

Miraculously everyone was in bed early. A win for everyone.

As part of their Economics and Business $50 Start-Up Challenge, our Year 10 students have created their own small businesses and will be selling a range of sweet treats, including lolly bags, cookies, sour mixes and surprise bags. Parents, carers and members of the wider community are also welcome to support our young entrepreneurs.
Come along, grab a treat and help our students experience what it is really like to run a business!
