SIX MONTHS OF COOEEE.

Six months ago, I opened the doors to CoOeee Bush Kindy for the very first time.

It started as a little idea.

A feeling that childhood could be slower.
That children deserved more time outside.
More freedom to explore.
More connection.
More community.
More village.

And somehow… that little idea became CoOeee. 🤎

Six months of muddy boots and wet feet.
Tiny hands building cubbies.
Climbing, creating, collecting, digging and wondering.
Sound baths under the trees.
GranFriends sharing stories and wisdom.
Children finding their people.
Families trusting us with their most precious little humans.

And perhaps most importantly — a community has grown around it.

Today we also have something very special to celebrate.

🏡 CoOeee has a home.

Council has confirmed that the Callala Bay Progress Hall and playground will continue to be provided for our community.

Which means we get to stay.

We get to keep building here.
Keep growing here.
Keep gathering here.
Keep creating something really special for the children and families of Callala Bay.

What began six months ago as a small dream has become something so much bigger than I could have imagined.

Six months down.
A whole childhood ahead. 🌿

Thank you to every family who took a chance on us.
Every child who has filled this little place with laughter.
Every GranFriend, volunteer, educator and community member who has helped shape our village.

Here’s to the first six months of CoOeee…
and everything still to come.

A truly grounding morning of storytelling, music and nature where children, families and teachers were held in a calm, safe space to slow down, breathe, and simply be

Under the sound of kookaburras in the trees, the children explored instruments, learnt about sound and how it can help our bodies and minds feel calm and regulated. It opened up such beautiful conversations about rest, slowing down, and caring for ourselves and each other

The highlight was a magical storytelling journey with P**i the Frog, where Jen brought the adventure to life through sound - the children were completely captivated

So much joy, curiosity and calm woven through one very special morning.

BUSH KINDY WEEK 1 🪵🪰🛖

🌿 This is the kind of childhood we’re protecting at CoOeee…

Bare feet in the grass.
Climbing trees and building secret tree houses.
Searching for bugs and listening to cicadas in the trees.
Discovering fairy gardens hidden in the bush.

This week our days were filled with:
🔍 nature scavenger hunts
🪵 stick wands and bird feeders
💙 gentle swings in the fabric hammock
🐛 bug hunting and curious little explorers

But the most beautiful part is watching children grow in confidence — feeling safe leaving preschool, building friendships, and realising they belong in nature.

Slow days.
Big imaginations.
A little village raising curious kids.
