International Women Day celebration 🥳

It’s O-Week! We’ve got a stall set up at Park on the Hill (with free merch and perdy-lookin’ flyers to give away), so if you’re part of a campus tour group, be sure to come over and say hi.

Things are a bit different this year, due to COVID; you’re not allowed to wander the stalls un-chaperoned (how Bridgerton!), so be sure to jump on the uni website and register for one of the tour groups so you can get the full experience.

UPDATE: There's a tent outside the Commonwealth Bank (at Park on the Hill) where you can register on the spot for a drop-in tour group; several of these run throughout the day. So if you haven't had a chance to book online, go and have a chat with them, and they'll fit you in.

For International student who need support!

The NSW Government is funding up to 20 weeks of free accommodation for vulnerable international students in NSW during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The scheme will be delivered through approved student accommodation and homestay providers.

Service NSW is administering the application process and will allocate the accommodation to homestay or purpose-built student accommodation providers. Applicants will not be able to self-select their accommodation.

In this International Year of the Nurse and Midwife, our 2020 IND aims to recognise the challenges the world faces in relation to good health and the contribution of nursing in addressing these. It is a call to action, aimed at ‘Nursing the world to health.’

Home ICN Voice to Lead-Home

Theme of the international midwives day 2020 is ''Celebrate. Demonstrate. Mobilise. Unite.' According to ICM, this theme will focus in more depth on how midwives and women can partner together to mobilise and unite toward a shared goal of gender equality.

Objectives of midwives day-
1. Inform every individual about the important role of midwives for pregnant women and her baby.

2. Celebrate the achievements and contributions of midwives in the health sector.

3. Motivate policymakers to ensure resources to midwives and to give them the deserved recognition.
