Today we celebrate the women who helped shape engineering as we know it. ⚙️✨
🔹 Emily Warren Roebling – Led the on-site construction of the Brooklyn Bridge when her husband became ill, becoming one of the first women recognised for major civil engineering work.
🔹 Hedy Lamarr – Co-invented frequency-hopping technology that laid the groundwork for modern wireless communication like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
🔹 Stephanie Kwolek – Invented Kevlar, the ultra-strong fibre used in body armour and many safety applications.
🔹 Mary Jackson – The first Black female engineer at NASA, contributing to aeronautics and breaking barriers for women in STEM.
🔹 Edith Clarke – A pioneer in electrical power system analysis and the first woman to professionally practice electrical engineering in the United States.
Engineering has always been shaped by brilliant women pushing boundaries, solving problems, and building the future.
