Carinya Christian School Celebrating 40 Years of Christ-centred, community-minded, discovery-driven education from Prep to Year 12. Take the journey with us from start to finish.

Carinya Christian School is an independent, coeducational private day school, teaching children in Prep to Year 12 across two campuses in Tamworth and Gunnedah, in the beautiful New England North West NSW region. At Carinya, Jesus Christ is central to the core vision of the school and our understanding of Him is imbedded in our educational practices, at every level. Carinya is registered by the NSW Board of Studies, and accredited to teach the Primary and Secondary Curriculum as found in the various Board of Studies syllabus documents applying from Kindergarten to Year 12.

Wisdom grows as we learn to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and seek understanding.

At Carinya, we encourage students to approach learning with curiosity and a willingness to be taught. Each new lesson, conversation, and experience provides an opportunity to understand more of Godโ€™s world and consider carefully what is true.

As we begin the final term of the year, may students continue to grow not only in knowledge, but in wisdom that shapes the way they learn, think, and live.

There was plenty of laughter, a few tears and a lot to give thanks for as we gathered with our Year 12 students and their families for their final school assembly.

From seeing their Kindergarten photos alongside Year 12, to music, speeches and hearing what each student hopes to do after the HSC, it was a fitting way to mark the end of their time at Carinya. Our 2026 Kindergarten students even helped us celebrate, presenting Year 12 with their farewell gifts.

Most importantly, we were reminded that while school finishes and plans change, Jesus remains the same. Our hope for these young people goes well beyond what comes next. We pray they will continue to know Christ, grow in wisdom and serve others wherever life takes them.

Thank you to the families who joined us for the assembly and morning tea, and who have shared so much of this journey with us.

Year 12, weโ€™re cheering you on as you head into your HSC exams. We pray you approach the weeks ahead with wisdom and diligence, knowing your Carinya community is behind you.

Our 2027 Kindergarten children and their families recently joined us for our Teddy Bearโ€™s Picnic, spending the afternoon playing, exploring and getting to know one another.

With favourite teddies in tow, the children enjoyed time together while parents had the chance to meet other families and chat with teachers ahead of next year.

Thank you to all the families who joined us. We loved having you with us and are looking forward to welcoming our newest Kindergarten class in 2027!

As the first week of the holidays begins, there is much to be thankful for as we look back on the term just finished.

Across the term, students learned new skills, strengthened friendships, explored more of Godโ€™s world, and shared the everyday rhythms of learning together. From classrooms and playgrounds to excursions and activities, there were many opportunities to encourage one another, grow in wisdom, and enjoy being part of our school community.

As families enjoy a change of pace over the break, we give thanks to God for His faithfulness throughout the term and for the people, relationships and opportunities He has provided.

Term 3 has taken our students well beyond the classroom, with camps, excursions and fieldwork alongside plenty of hands-on learning in Science, Agriculture, Food Tech, Geography, the Creative Arts and more.

Weโ€™ve shared Book Week, sport, performances, cross-age reading, community events and a few pizza days too. Through it all, there have been plenty of opportunities to learn together, encourage one another and enjoy being part of our school community.

Today brought a significant moment as we gathered for our Year 12 Farewell Assembly. Weโ€™re thankful for the contribution our Year 12 students have made over their years with us, and we pray for them as they prepare for their HSC exams and for what lies ahead.

Weโ€™re seeking a Piano Teacher / Peripatetic Piano Tutor to provide individual tuition to Primary and Secondary students.

This part-time role will provide individual piano tuition to Primary and Secondary students, helping them develop their musical skills, confidence and enjoyment of music.

Weโ€™re looking for someone who is passionate about music, enjoys working with young people and is committed to supporting students within a Christ-centred school community.
