🐶 A special Book Week visitor in Kindy! 📚

We were so lucky to welcome one of our mums and her beautiful puppy, who looked just like Hairy Maclary!

The children loved listening to Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy while our furry friend sat alongside us for story time. After the story, our special guest shared some important advice about dog safety, teaching the children how to safely meet and greet dogs, ask for permission before patting them, and understand how to be kind and respectful around animals.

Thank you for creating such a memorable and meaningful learning experience for our Kindy children. We loved having you both visit! 💛🐾

Our Toddler 1 children had fun strengthening their fine motor skills through a colourful sorting activity using tweezers! 🌈✨
The children used tweezers to carefully pick up and sort coloured items into matching groups, helping to develop hand strength, finger coordination, and concentration. This engaging hands-on experience also encouraged colour recognition, problem-solving, and early sorting skills.
Learning through play makes developing important life skills both fun and meaningful, and our little learners did an amazing job showing persistence and confidence throughout the activity! 💛

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Take another look through your What & When for Families guide to explore age-appropriate activities and learning ideas you can try together.

💛 Sometimes the best learning resource is the one you already have at home.

Our Toddler 2 children had a wonderful time exploring their creativity through hand painting! 🎨🖐️
Using their hands as brushes, the children experimented with colours, textures, and patterns while expressing their unique ideas. This fun sensory activity encouraged creativity, supported fine motor development, and gave everyone the opportunity to explore and create with confidence.
There were plenty of smiles, colourful masterpieces, and lots of joyful learning along the way. We love seeing our little artists express themselves through creative play! 🌈💙
