There’s nothing quite like feeling the sand beneath your toes, exploring the reef on a snorkelling adventure, seeing a turtle in the wild and discovering the incredible nature and wildlife that make our region so special. 🌊🐠

But for us, it’s about more than simply experiencing Queensland, it’s about connecting with it.

Many of these unforgettable experiences are shared alongside Australian students, families and local communities, creating meaningful opportunities for genuine cultural exchange, friendship and connection.

At Banora International Group, we believe learning extends far beyond the classroom. By immersing students in Australian life and culture, we give them the opportunity to learn, connect and create memories that last a lifetime.

We’re proud to acknowledge the ongoing support of Tourism Tropical North Queensland, Tourism and Events Queensland, Tourism Australia, Jetstar Australia and Cairns Airport, who help connect students from around the world with the incredible experiences our region has to offer.

We’re also grateful to work alongside Great Adventures - Green Island and Great Barrier Reef Cruises and Peace Lutheran College creating opportunities for students participating in the Living Classroom Program 📝

Lyndall has been hosting with Banora for five years, and has been loving the experience.

"I am living on my own, and I enjoy hosting for the company.
It's really refreshing to have young people around you - they keep me young."

Lyndall has left a lasting impact on the students she has hosted and may have found the secret to eternal youth - hosting!

Some of the best souvenirs are the people you meet. 💛

Long after the flights home and the suitcases are unpacked, it's the relationships that remain.

Opening your home and your heart creates something truly special. From shared dinners and family traditions to everyday conversations and laughter, host families become a meaningful part of each student's journey. What begins as a new experience often grows into lifelong friendships that span countries, cultures, and generations.

Distance may separate us, but the connection doesn't fade. It lives on through messages, postcards, video calls, and even reunions!

Sometimes, the people who welcome you into their home end up holding a place in your heart forever. 🌏✨

Strong partnerships are at the heart of what we do. 🤍

Over the years, we've had the privilege of working alongside amazing local Cairns businesses and we feel incredibly grateful for our wonderful partnership with Ten06. It is an absolute pleasure working with Sarah and Andy - who have welcomed our students warmly, with open arms. Thank you for your kind words.

"We feel incredibly honoured and grateful for the ongoing support and partnership we’ve received from Banora. Through this collaboration, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming groups of Japanese students to our beachside restaurant, which has been a truly rewarding experience for our team. It’s been wonderful to share what we do while also learning from and connecting with such a vibrant and respectful group of young people. We genuinely value this relationship and look forward to continuing it into the future." - Sarah and Andy Hinchcliffe

As part of our 30-year celebrations, we are having lots of celebrations throughout the year and one such celebration will be held at Ten06 this weekend with many of our Cairns hosts. If you missed your offer, please contact the office 🧡

Meet Jade, a self picked nickname chosen for their Australian adventure 🇦🇺

Jade recently travelled to Cairns and joined students at Smithfield State High School as part of their Banora experience.

It was Jade's very first time visiting Australia and they were so excited to speak English with the locals, meet new people, try different foods and explore our beautiful region.

Building confidence, embracing new experiences and forming friendships across cultures are all part of the journey. Experiences like these are what make student exchange so rewarding. 🤍

Some connections last long after the homestay ends 🌏❤️

“Thank you for all the things you (Banora) do. Thanks to you, we have incredible, now, friends. We have connected with several families and over the past year, we have visited Japan various times, and we have met them and have seen their side as well. We keep connecting with them, and we hope that we can grow those relationships in the future.” – The Pabon Family

At Banora, cultural exchange is about more than travel - it’s about the lifelong friendships, shared experiences and global connections that continue well beyond the program itself ✨

Did you know we coordinate academic programs in conjunction with Australian universities? 🌿🔬

These photos from the Logos Academy Biology Study Tour showcase students taking part in immersive, hands-on learning experiences across Far North Queensland in locations such as the Daintree Rainforest Observatory and Tinaroo Environmental Education Centre.

Delivered collaboratively with the JCU: James Cook University, Australia Rainforest Observatory in Cape Tribulation, students participated in ecology workshops, wildlife studies, reforestation projects and environmental field research.

Students had the opportunity to commence a Terrestrial InvertASPate Survey Techniques Program, study reef recovery and ecology, visit the rainforest Canopy Crane and leave a lasting legacy, planting trees with the reforestation program 🌏🌱

This program is a unique opportunity to combine science, sustainability, cultural exchange and real-world learning in some of Australia’s most remarkable natural environments.
