CELEBRATING NATIONAL SCIENCE WEEK! 🔬🧪

Our Primary students enjoyed a thrilling, hands-on science showcase led by our Head of Science Mr Pope, alongside Year 11 Science Ambassadors Ava and Sarah. With high-energy experiments and exciting opportunities to see science in action, our students loved every minute of it!

These Year 11 leaders are helping to promote STEM across the College, inspire younger students, and make science engaging and accessible for everyone. What a fantastic example of student leadership in action!

FUTURE PROBLEM SOLVING PROGRAM | A big shoutout to our Year 8 Future Problem Solving team, who last week completed their two-hour timed Qualifying Problem after months of dedicated training and preparation!

Throughout the year, these students have been working with Dr Brooke Scriven, our High Ability and High Performance Coordinator, developing their critical and creative thinking skills through the Future Problem Solving Global Issues Program. They have researched complex global topics, learnt a six-step problem-solving process and worked collaboratively to develop innovative solutions to imagined challenges of the future.

We are incredibly proud of the commitment, teamwork and thinking these students have demonstrated throughout the year, and we look forward to seeing where their problem-solving journey takes them!

GRAND FINALISTS! | FQ SCHOOL FUTSAL NORTHERN STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

A huge congratulations to our U13 Boys Falcons Futsal Team, who have been representing FCC at the FQ School Northern State Championships in Townsville over the past few days!

The boys had an incredible tournament, finishing top of their pool in the group stage. They then advanced to the semi-finals, securing a thrilling victory in a nail-biting penalty shootout, before finishing as runners-up in the Grand Final.

What a fantastic achievement and a true testament to FCC’s passion and dedication to futsal. A big thank you to Mr. DeVries and Mr. G for their coaching, time, and dedication in travelling with the team, as well as to all our parents for their ongoing support.

Well done, Falcons!

AGGREGATE HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONS! 🏆

A huge congratulations to our 71 students across Primary and Secondary who competed at the recent TCN District Track and Field Championships. We are thrilled to share that our Secondary team has once again been named Aggregate High School Champions, achieving the strongest overall result relative to school size across our region!

This fantastic result reflects both the outstanding performances and enthusiastic participation of our athletes, and we could not be more proud of the way our students represented the College.

A special congratulations also goes to the following students for their outstanding individual results:
Overall Age Champions: Ainsley (13G) and Joel (17B)
2nd Place Age Champions: Jack (15B), Josiah (16B), and Daniel (17B)

We also congratulate our 27 students (across 63 events!) who have now been selected to represent TCN at the upcoming Peninsula Championships!

OUTDOOR LEARNING PROGRAM | A group of our Year 7-9 students conquered Glacier Rock today as part of our Outdoor Learning Program! Pushing through changing weather along the way, they were rewarded with fantastic views from the top. We are super proud of their outstanding effort, positive attitudes, and endurance. A fantastic experience for all!

FNQ FUTSAL TITLES | A huge congratulations to all our Secondary Falcons teams who competed in the FNQ Titles last week at Redlynch Central Sports Stadium! We are incredibly proud of each of them, with a special shoutout to our 16-Year Boys who won their division!

BRISBANE UNIVERSITY TOUR | A group of our Year 10 and 11 students are on their way home after enjoying a taste of tertiary life over the past two days on our Brisbane University Tour!

Visiting UQ, QUT, and Griffith University, students explored the campuses and learned about potential degrees, entry pathways, and university life, giving them invaluable insights into their future options.

A big thank you to the universities for hosting our group, and to our dedicated staff for making the tour possible. What an exciting step as our students begin planning their future pathways!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD | It’s that time of year again!
Over the past four years, our FCC community has generously packed and donated an incredible 428 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child!

We’re excited to continue this wonderful tradition in 2026. Families are invited to get involved by packing a shoebox and contributing to this special initiative.

OUTDOOR LEARNING | What an unforgettable camp for our Year 6 students on beautiful Magnetic Island! From archery tag and bushwalking to snorkelling and beach games, it was a wonderful few days of adventure, friendship and memory-making as they mark their Senior year of Primary School.

CULTURAL EXCHANGE | On Friday, we were excited to welcome a group of students from Kwansei Gakuin High School in Japan for a memorable day at Freshwater Christian College. During their visit, they joined our students in classes, attended Chapel, enjoyed lunchtime musical performances in the Secondary Quad, entertained us with a performance of their own, and finished the day sharing damper around the campfire.

The visit was especially meaningful for a group of our Secondary students who will be visiting Kwansei Gakuin High School as part of their upcoming Japan Tour, now less than five weeks away! It was wonderful to see connections already beginning to form ahead of this exciting cultural exchange.
