🌟 Inspiring the next generation 🌟

What an incredible moment it will be to see Heidi Talbot make her AFLW debut for the Gold Coast Suns tonight!

From the Far North to the AFLW stage, her journey is a powerful reminder to young girls across our communities that big dreams are possible when you believe in yourself, work hard and have the right people supporting you along the way.

Her debut is more than just a football milestone — it’s inspiration for the next generation of young girls from Far North Queensland who can now see someone from home reaching the highest level of the game. 🏉✨

We are so proud to celebrate this achievement and the pathway she is helping create for those coming behind her.

Dream big. Believe in yourself. The sky is the limit!

🌟TALBOT TO DEBUT🌟

From Far North Queensland to the big stage, former North Cairns Tigers Football Club and now Gold Coast Suns, Heidi Talbot will make her AFL Women's debut Saturday night against the Western Bulldogs at Peoples First Stadium!

The journey back to boarding begins today, and our team is so excited to welcome our young people back to AFL Cape York House over the coming days! ✈️🙌

After spending the holidays reconnecting with family, friends and home, it's time for another term filled with learning, growth, new opportunities and plenty of memories. We can't wait to see everyone's smiling faces, hear all about their holiday adventures, and support them as they settle back into boarding and school.

To all our young people and families travelling today and throughout the week, we wish you safe travels. 🤎

Last night, our staff had the privilege of attending The Boy Who Found His Way Home, a powerful and moving performance created by Aunty Jillian Bowie inspired by the journey of her son and former AFL Cape York House Boys student, Iothomo 🌟

The show was a story of learning, resilience, rich identity and the strength of culture and people. Thank you, Aunty Jillian and everyone involved, for showcasing such an inspiring and joyful story with plenty of belly sore laughter 🤎👏

A special thank you to Cairns Indigenous Art Fair for providing us with the opportunity to attend this incredible event. We are grateful to have experienced such a meaningful performance and to celebrate the powerful stories that continue to inspire and connect our communities.

A few weeks ago AFL Cape York celebrated Reconciliation Week with a big cultural feast for our community on Mabo Day. It was an incredibly special dinner celebrating and honouring the culture while purposefully strengthening connection and togetherness 🖤

We are grateful for all those who attended and shared in on the evening of connection and celebration.

A massive thank you to those who helped make this an extra special night ✨️
