🥏 Ultimate progress in Ultimate Frisbee! 🥏
Our Year 11/12 Sport & Rec students have been having an absolute blast learning the ropes of Ultimate Frisbee—and their growth has been incredible.
They’ve been building confidence, expanding their vocab, and sharpening their physical skills in everything from Clap and Crab catches to forehand and backhand throws. Their accuracy and reliability are seriously levelling up! 💪✨
Next up, we’ll be diving into our coaching plans, where students will learn how to balance informational and motivational feedback—an essential skill for any great coach. We can’t wait to see them step into these leadership roles!

🥞 Pancake preppin’ and morning tea makin’! 🥞
Our learners have been busy in the kitchen this term, whipping up a delicious mix of nutritious foods and satisfying snacks to keep our bodies and brains fuelled for optimum learning!
Our Hospitality students are in full swing—hairnets, aprons, gloves and all—and their commitment to safe, high quality food prep has been seriously impressive. 🍴✨
A huge well done to everyone involved. With tasty treats and teamwork like this, lunch is definitely on us! (Remember - lunch actually IS provided for all learners - YAY!)

Monday munchies! Welcoming all learners to come on in at 8:30am this Monday 16 Feb to enjoy a special breakfast of pancakes and assorted toppings. Let's get those smiles wide and bellies full!

🎄 12 Days of Indie School Cairns – Day 12 🎄

End of Year – Time to Reflect
Our incredible foundation year at Indie School Cairns has now wrapped up. On Friday 19 December 2025, Indie staff locked the doors and said goodbye (for now) to our never-ending evolving campus. It’s fitting that our 12 Days of Indie School Cairns finale allows us to fondly reflect on our achievements, friendships, and think about improvements for next year. Mostly though, let’s hear about the WAKE PARK!

Fun in the Sun!
For our end of year celebration day, we opted for water sports at Cairns Wake Park, featuring a fun-filled day spent between the inflatable obstacle course, giant slide and silly swing, and the cable-ski zone.

The morning gave everyone plenty of laughs, especially with the ultimate face-off—Harry vs. Dale at the obstacle course! Harry’s youth and athleticism gave him the edge—but Dale is calling for a rematch in 2026, so watch out Haz!

When we switched over to the cable-ski area, many of our crew skilfully graduated from kneeboard to wakeboard —well done! For most of us though, we persevered with the kneeboard, and there were plenty of face plants, nose snorts, and even a few lost shorts! The sludgy walk from around the lake back to the starting point was exhausting, but was definitely less excruciating thanks to the encouragement of peers from the viewing deck.
