From a humble beginning in 1997, the aquarium started life as a series of small glass fish tanks in Dr Jamie Seymour’s lab.

Welcome to the JCU Eduquarium, a world class facility, located in the heart of the tropics at James Cook University's Cairns Campus. The Eduquarium was established by Associate Professor Jamie Seymour, a world leading jellyfish and venom expert, and Richard Fitzpatrick, an Emmy award winning cinematographer. It is used for filming, research and educational purposes. We are looking forward to sharing our passion for science and news about the Eduquarium with you!
