Hi all, in this pic of a manifold you'll see both threaded sections are bent.
This is the result of incorrect disassembly procedure and not separating the cylinders evenly.
Offering technical & servicing experience to recreational divers and instructors for over thirty years.
Currently servicing equipment for dive operators from Cairns to Port Douglas plus dive schools & SCUBA dive clubs across Australia and overseas.

Why do I have a leak in my BCD connector?
Ever wondered what the small plug like thingy in the back of your SPG is.
It's an overpressure valve.

Happy Friday fellow Southern Hemisphere Aquanauts, here's a q, just working on a Aqualung Mikron, heavily corroded, but don't recognise the blue dots on the inlet face of the yoke retainer.
Any thoughts?

My customer complained about bubbles in front of his face when underwater.
On inspection I found that the front cover retaining rim had split and had separated from the purge cover allowing exhaled air to leak past the diaphragm and out under the cover.

Adding to the SPG story, two pics of different gauge activation systems.
The spiral type and the bourdon tube type.
The spiral tube is a series of circles and when pressurised rotate causing the needle to move.
The bourdon tube functions the same way and in this example it is actually a Suunto analogue depth gauge and is a open tube.
To function it has water enter via a small opening on the side and as you descend the increasing pressure slowly straightens the tube which in turn activates the gearing and then the needle to register your depth.
These were prone to the tube opening becoming blocked causing them to give inaccurate readings.
