Fri-YAY Feels 😎

Fridays are full of energy, movement and smiles at Centre 1!

The children had a wonderful time joining Miss Lara for their weekly dance class, exploring rhythm, coordination and creative movement through music and fun activities.

From clapping and jumping to following actions and expressing themselves through dance, everyone was engaged and having a fantastic time. These experiences help build confidence, gross motor skills and a love of movement while creating plenty of joyful memories along the way.

Our Kindy children recently participated in the Lions Eye Health Program, where friendly volunteers visited the centre to conduct vision screenings.

These important checks help identify any potential vision concerns early, supporting children’s learning, development, and overall wellbeing. The children were fantastic throughout the process, showing confidence and curiosity as they completed their eye tests.

A big thank you to the Lions volunteers for taking the time to support the health and wellbeing of our little learners!

🌟SUPER SWIMMER AWARD🌟

Thomas for improving body position and safety skills.

Thomas is always so excited to come swimming, and he has been getting into a great routine. He has made a great improvement in his body position for swimming, and he is working hard on self rescue skills and being safer in and around the water.

🎵🎶 Buzz Music School Visit! 🎶🎵

Once a month, our children from Centre 1 look forward to a fun-filled music session with Buzz Music School!

Through singing, dancing, drumming and exploring a variety of musical instruments, the children develop their confidence, creativity and listening skills while having lots of fun. It’s always wonderful to see their excitement as they make music together, learn new rhythms and express themselves through sound.

The Cairns Show is coming soon, we are so excited and will be giving away a Family Pass!!

We had so much fun celebrating Earth Day with a creative art experience at Centre 1!

The children used the bottom of a measuring cup dipped in blue and green paint to stamp their own Earths onto paper.

This simple activity sparked conversations about our planet while encouraging creativity, fine motor skills, and an appreciation for the world around us. We loved seeing each child’s unique Earth come to life! 🌍

At Centre 1 did a fun water dripping activity fir Earth Day. Using some green and blue water and some pipettes to squeeze the water onto some cotton pads. The cotton pads were arranged into circles to create a round Earth 🌎. The blue and green water when dripped onto the pads made it look like the Earth. The children loved squeezing the water out of the pipettes!
