Today is National Donut Day, so naturally we just had to treat our hardworking educators to some yummy donuts! Happy Donut Day to all - we hope everyone got to enjoy a donut today!

|| RECONCILIATION COMMUNITY ART PROJECT ||

Our community art project is complete - our beautiful Cubby Care community has come together to create this amazing piece that will be displayed in our service. It was so lovely to see our families join in contributing to this Reconciliation piece - what a special way to represent this year's theme of "All In!"

Today, on National Sorry Day, we pause to reflect, remember, and acknowledge the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples — especially the Stolen Generations.

At Cubby Care, we are committed to creating a space where children learn kindness, respect, inclusion, and the importance of listening to First Nations voices and stories. Through meaningful conversations and learning experiences, we can help nurture understanding and compassion from an early age.

We walk together in the spirit of healing, reconciliation, and hope for the future. 🖤💛❤️

|| INTRODUCING FRANK! ||

We have a winner for our Gnome Naming Competition - we had some great suggestions and it was so hard to pick just one!

Thank you to Kara for her winning suggestion of "Frank" - Frank is now proudly watching over our herb garden. Kara will be receiving a $50 Coles voucher for her suggestion.

|| REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE ||

Last Friday we had a super special visit from one of our amazing families to help us learn about sorting waste, recycling and sustainability! Our very knowledgeable visitors taught us which rubbish goes in which bin, and brought some different packaging and clean rubbish for us to practise sorting ourselves. At the end of our visit, we had an even bigger surprise - our visitors had brought a rubbish truck for us to see! We gathered round excitedly to see the truck, watching as it lifted up a bin and tipped it into the back of the truck!

A very big thank you to our special visitors - our Guyala friends are still talking about your visit!

|| KINDERGARTEN REUNION ||

Recently we held a special reunion for our 2025 Kindy class! We invited all of our 2025 Kindy kids to join us for a fun morning of catching up, playing, and telling us all about their adventures at Prep! It was so lovely to see all of their beautiful, smiling faces, and to see how much they had all grown in such short time since we saw them last! We treasure these continued connections with our past children, and look forward to seeing them all again soon 😍

A special thanks to our little friend Hunter and his Mum, for making us a gorgeous painting to remember them by! We have proudly displayed their artwork in our foyer for all to see 💕

|| WOW DAY ||

Yesterday our centre went ORANGE 🧡 for WOW Day!

On Wow Day, everyone is encouraged to wear orange to celebrate and show their support of the hard work and dedication of SES volunteers throughout Australia.

Our SES consists of thousands of volunteers from a variety of backgrounds and professions who respond to emergencies and disasters across the State, 24/7. They are trained and equipped to help their communities across a range of functions, and their primary purpose is to assist the most vulnerable members of the community.

The SES is designed to empower people to help themselves and others in their community in times of emergency and disaster. The basic concept is one of self-help and mutual assistance within each community.
From everyone at Cubby Care, we wanted to say a big thank you to all our hardworking and amazing SES workers and volunteers 🧡
