Cubby Care Early Learning Centre is a Long Day Care & Kindergarten Service dedicated to providing high quality education and care for your child.

At Cubby Care Early Learning Centre we believe that children learn best through play. We provide children with opportunities to discover new things to allow them to make sense of the world they live in by being able to discover and experiment how things work for themselves. The developmental programs in each of our rooms are designed around the National Early Learning Years Framework. We draw from

the three key elements that are within the Framework our Principles, Practices and Learning Outcomes. Together these elements are used to create learning programs that are reflective of our individual centre and the needs of our children and families. Parent participation is a large part of our curriculum and we provide many opportunities for parents to seek feedback on their children’s progress by way of parent information evenings, program surveys, parent contribution stories, learning stories, children’s journals and verbal communication about each child’s day. The aim of our programs is for each child to become independent, self confident and inquisitive learners who have the opportunity to learn at their own pace and to achieve the five Learning Outcomes from the Early Years Learning Framework, these are:

1. Children have a strong sense of identity.
2. Children are connected with and contribute to their world.
3. Children have a strong sense of well being.
4. Children are confident and involved learners.
5. Children are effective communicators. We strive to provide a program that meets the individual child and supports them on their lifelong learning journey.

|| FATHER'S DAY BBQ!! ||
Today we invited all of the dads, grandads, uncles, and other special men in our children's lives to join us to celebrate them and to say thank you for all that they do! We ate lots of yummy food, played games and enjoyed chatting together - such a special time for our Cubby Care community!
Thank you to all of our beautiful families for joining us today - we hope you all had a great time! Happy Father's Day!

|| CAIRNS FESTIVAL PARADE ||

Our first time joining the Cairns Festival Parade was an amazing experience - celebrating 150 years with a "Fun in the Sun" theme! With bright colours, fun dance music, bubbles, lights, and our bus decorated with a tropical feel, we had so much fun getting into the community and seeing everyone's smiling faces!

|| EXCITING NEWS!!! ||

Guess what?!

Cubby Care is entering a float in the Cairns Festival Parade!! We will be down there tomorrow evening, with our decorated bus, in our bright "Fun in the Sun" gear and decorations, showcasing our amazing centre and community spirit!

We would love to see all of our families down there on the sidelines to watch the parade and support Cubby Care! We will be looking into the crowd to see how many familiar faces we can spot and wave to - we can't wait to see all of your beautiful, smiling faces!

Duration: 5.30pm - 7.30pm, with Fireworks Spectacular at 7:30pm

|| BOOK WEEK DAY 4 ||

Today has been full of potions, Quidditch, wands, and all things Harry Potter! We also explored Elmer the Elephant, and enjoyed lots of other various book dress ups and activities. One more day of Book Week to go - we can't wait!

|| WHERE'S WALLY WEDNESDAY!! ||

Day Three of Book Week 2026 has been full of stripes and searching for our friend Wally! We had Wally dress ups, red and white playdough and paint, and fun activities where we tried to find Wally as well as other items! Book Week has been a blast so far - let's see what happens tomorrow!

|| BOOK WEEK DAY 2! ||

Our 2nd day of Book Week for 2026 has been just as engaging as the 1st, with our focus being on the works of Dr Seuss! Lots of Cats in Hats, Thing One and Thing Twos, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, and more! Our little Cubby Care friends made Green Eggs and Ham, Lorax trees, had fun dressing up - so much Book Week excitement! Stay tuned tomorrow for more.........

|| BOOK WEEK DAY ONE ||

Book Week for 2026 has started off strong, with a focus on a fan favourite: The Very Hungry Caterpillar! Our children and educators enjoyed reading, activities and dress ups in this theme, with lots of the ever popular super heroes and princesses thrown in the mix as well!

This year's Book Week theme is "Symphony of Stories", and we can't wait to see which story tomorrow will bring!

Science Week at Cubby Care was full of learning, wonder and experimentation - our children have discovered concepts involving chemical reactions, density, depth perception, weight, temperature, dispersion, and so much more! Our little scientists are always so curious and ready to learn and discover 🕵️‍♀️🧑‍🔬
