📱✨ Cyber Safety at Holy Cross ✨📱

We’ve had an incredible couple of days welcoming Sam from the Cyber Safety Project to Holy Cross! Students were fully engaged in high-energy sessions that explored how to stay safe, respectful and responsible online. The conversations were powerful, relevant and really connected with our students at every year level. A big thank you to Sam for delivering such engaging and meaningful learning experiences for our school community 👏

📚 What a fantastic day at Readers Cup!
Our 2026 Holy Cross team represented us beautifully, placing midfield out of 42 teams (168 students!) from across the FNQ region - from Thursday Island to Tully and out to Ravenshoe and everywhere in between. 💛
The team truly put the Holy Cross Way into actions, showing incredible teamwork, determination and reading stamina. The children have been reading and discussing four novels since April. Their love of books and reading shone through the whole process. They shared ideas, supported one another and brought such positive energy to the day - we couldn’t be prouder! 🏆

Our Kitchen garden bananas ripened just in time for the ‘Wattleseed Banana Bread’ that our amazing tuckshop convenors are creating this term for the First Nations menu items.

An exciting opportunity for Parent to Learn about the ONLINE World child are growing up in. This event is for Holy Cross School Parents only. It's not too late to register.

Holy Cross School Chess Rebels achieving again.

At the highest level, our Premier Division team delivered a dominant performance to finish 1st overall, with multiple players placing among the top individual performers in the competition. In Division A, our team also achieved excellent success, securing 1st place overall, while in Division B, our students performed strongly against a large and competitive field, finishing 3rd as a team.

Across the tournament, many students achieved strong individual scores, with gold, silver and bronze medals awarded to the top three players in each division, and merit awards recognising all players who scored 4.5 points. These results highlight not only success at the top level, but also the depth of our chess program, with students continuing to improve, support one another, and represent Holy Cross with pride.
