🐉🧧 Happy Chinese New Year! 🧧🐉

Recently, at Cairns Early Learning, we had a wonderful time celebrating and learning together as we welcomed the Lunar New Year. We are so proud to celebrate the rich cultures within our team and share these special traditions with our children and community.

Our educators introduced the meaning behind the celebration, and the children enjoyed hands-on experiences throughout the day. Together, children and staff prepared delicious dumplings, which we all enjoyed for lunch — a special way to share food, culture, and connection. 🥟❤️

The children also created beautiful paper lantern crafts and explored Chinese calligraphy, learning how characters are carefully written with a brush and ink, and practiced on the interactive board. 🏮🖌️✨

Celebrations like this help us foster inclusion, understanding, and appreciation for the diverse backgrounds that make our community so special.

We’re excited to share that Ranger Nat has officially kicked off our 2026 Animal Ed Program with a fascinating investigation all about BEES! 🐝🌼

Our Kindy children have been busy little learners — exploring how bees live, why they’re so important, and how they help our gardens grow. From hands-on activities and close-up observations to creative bee-inspired crafts, the curiosity and excitement has been buzzing through the room!

The children investigated:
🌻 How bees collect nectar
🍯 How honey is made
🌍 Why bees are important for our environment
🔍 The special features that help bees do their job

It’s wonderful to see our young explorers asking questions, sharing ideas, and developing a deeper understanding of the natural world around them. We can’t wait to see what Ranger Nat brings next on our Animal Ed adventure! 🐞🦋
