This picture sums it up, just adjust the metaphor to suit.

I consider the art suggests past & present, and how once one skill/activity was praised to point it took over.

The older self, is copping flack, as it dithers in dough, I mean doubt.
adding to the stress around using your loaf.

By integrating the selves, past into present, the young woman can learn to filter out that which is not relevant, nor wanted as intrusive.

Self control, regulation of emotions, by concious activity>
this gives her more 'real time'<
A time where sixty seconds of distance can be run in a Swift minute' at ease for in ones mind, time dilates, distraction is diminished into a recognition there are things to do, both now, and for later.

As for the younger self, Enjoy the good memories, relive the fun and salvage what you can from the rest, learning your lesson/mistake & move on beyond.

During Sars epidemic in early 2003.I spent 3 months on the Cableship CS Waveventure at anchor in SIngapore,
I recall the temperature checks taken each time we arrived at Clifford Pier, and again taken when we were returning to ship, again at the customs area at Clifford Pier. Singaporeans handled that Pandemic really well, and I wish them well during this outbreak. God Willing People will realise the need to be personally responsible for reducing contact and therefore reducing spreading

Hopefully the amount of flouride you have consumed over time in your Coldgate,
flouridated water even, acts to calcify the pineal gland, thus occluding the vision which otherwise would be picked up by the rods [yes identical in many ways to the rods used in night time vision] as opposed to the eyes that have both rods for night time combined with cones, used in day,for colour perception through that other clever thing, a variable lens, and aperture, care of the iris and surrounding musculature on the lens.

What a body/brain/set of sensory perceptors we have?

Wonder why we do not use them more, combined with Intuition, to smooth the path of living?

What you see, through freshly opened eyes, are the first indication you are physically awake, after sleep.

How those first few thoughts invade, is still a mystery, choosing which ones to follow, wisdom.
