Bit of fun this week hanging out with our mates at SAS global in Townsville helping out with a big sign install job

A little rigging job today and tomorrow. Removing and replacing some fire damaged handrails on the top floor of a hotel.

Dodged a bit of rain by driving down to Townsville for a tower inspection.

A couple of weeks ago we put up what is possibly the biggest skysign in Cairns then forgot to post anything.

how is it that we still cant agree on what a sling is rated to.
When I started out I was taught a basketed sling was good for 2 x the single strand strength and a choke was good for half.
When I did my doggers I was taught that when basketed around a round object it was double (square loads and tighter leg angles change the capacity) and a choked sling was good for 80% of single strand. I just bought some Singing Rock slings and they give a whole new set of numbers.

Finished up another big sign today. 👌

Wrapping up this cool job today. Aparently thats about 2.5t of new steel on the tower. All lifted with ropes.

Big day in dubios weather to get this sign up thanks for the hard work guys.

A big day of lifting and lowering things. We hauled over a 100m of copper pipe and one heavy dining table to the sub pentouse of a residential block then recovered a bunch of industrial fans out of this structure.

Another big day of lifting and bolting steel on the hill. Back next week if the weather holds.

Zipped down to Brisbane for a days work. Didn't get any good photos on the tower but the views at dinner are pretty special.
