Nature Art.
Together we made a plan on what art activities. Children explored the school to get their own resources for our nature art activities. We then worked on sorting through which items were for each activity.
After this children were able to created dream catchers, nature 3D photos, leaf and flower prints and a rainbow. We acknowledged the land our resources came from and had a wonderful day creating.

National Sorry Day / Reconciliation Week / Mabo Day
Our Ackowldgement to Country:
Here is the land (arms open wide)
And here is the sky (arms pointing to the sky)
Here are my friends (arms pointing to everyone in the group)
And here am I (arms hugging oneself)
We would like to Acknowledge that the Land we are here on today is the traditional lands for the Yirrganydji and Tjapukai people and that we respect their spiritual relationship with their Country."
Children have been apart of our Acknowledgement week, participating in activities and conversations engaging and learning about Australia's indigenous past, and how we can support the present and future.
Some of our activities included:
Working collaboratively with the Kindergarten in decorating the tree on the Kindy grounds (Mr Rosendaleโs tree) with friendship bands.
Reading and learning about Dreamtime stories. We read "How the Birds got their colours" and "When the snake bites the sun". Children were then to brainstorm and come up with their own dream time stories. Using the indigenous symbols they had to incorporate them into their stories.
We created a reconciliation wall, where children had to talk about and write how we can move forward and how we can be a friend to everyone.
At Peace Lutheran School, during the second lunch we were all welcomed to come and celebrate Mabo day. Their were traditional TSI dancers.
