With Miss Candice recently graduating as an Early Childhood Teacher, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate a very special milestone for our service.
St. Michael’s College Early Learning Centre now has five on-the-floor qualified Early Childhood Teachers, along with two ECT-qualified relief Educators, within our staffing team.
In a sector where many services face ongoing challenges attracting and retaining even one full-time ECT, we do not take this achievement for granted for even a moment.
Having such a strong team of highly qualified professionals helps to ensure that deep knowledge of child development, pedagogy, intentional teaching and high quality practice is embedded across our entire service every single day - not only within our Kindergarten program, but throughout all learning environments and age groups.
Importantly, we also recognise that quality early childhood education is never the result of qualifications alone. Every single member of our team plays a vital role in creating the safe, nurturing, responsive and meaningful environments our children experience each day. The dedication, care, commitment and professional knowledge held across our entire team is something we value enormously.
However, it is absolutely worth celebrating the remarkable depth of professional expertise we are fortunate to have within our service and acknowledging the commitment these Educators have made to ongoing learning and professional growth.
