🌿🍃 Mud Kitchen Magic at Kidscape Caboolture! 🍃🌿

There’s something truly special about getting hands-on with nature, and our little learners have been doing just that in our mud kitchen!

Through mud kitchen play, children explore, create, and imagine as they mix, pour, scoop, and invent their own muddy masterpieces. Whether they’re “cooking” delicious mud pies, creating nature soups, or working together on imaginative recipes, every experience is packed with valuable learning opportunities.

Our Sunflower children have been busy planting and caring for their outdoor garden space, learning firsthand about nature, sustainability, and where plants come from. Through digging, planting, watering, and nurturing, they are developing responsibility, patience, and a love for their environment.

These hands-on experiences encourage curiosity, teamwork, and a deeper connection with the natural world. We can’t wait to watch our garden grow alongside our little gardeners! 🌼🌿

🌼Meet our Teacher🌼

My name is Ash,
I have worked as a teacher since 2003 at various childcare and education centres as well as primary schools in New Zealand.
I have a vast understanding and experience in play-based early learning and education.
I believe in developmentally appropriate learning that supports every child to become a confident and competent learner, who will become successful in their future life.
I believe it is absolutely important to create a strong foundation for children from an early age and to provide an environment for children that is physically safe, cognitively challenging, emotionally nurturing and supports academic, social and emotional development.

Outside of my work life, I love to spend time with my family, go for long drives discovering places, watch a good family movie and baking sometimes.

I am passionate to be part of a great team at Kidscape Caboolture, providing foundational support for all children to succeed in a life long learning journey. Im looking forward to continuing to meet all our lovely families and build a positive relationship with you all.

🔢🏗️ Numeracy in Action at Kindy! 🏗️🔢

Our Kindy children have been exploring numeracy concepts through building and construction experiences today!

As they worked together to create towers, bridges, and imaginative structures, the children used a range of mathematical skills including counting blocks, comparing sizes, measuring heights, recognising shapes, and problem-solving to make their designs stable and strong.

Building experiences like these provide wonderful opportunities for children to develop early numeracy skills in a fun and meaningful way. They also encourage teamwork, communication, creativity, and critical thinking as children share ideas and work towards a common goal.

It was fantastic to see the children confidently using mathematical language such as “taller,” “shorter,” “bigger,” and “more” while bringing their creations to life.

Learning through play helps build strong foundations for future learning, and our Kindy children certainly showed their amazing skills today! 🌟

🎨🌈 Our little artists have been busy exploring colours and patterns today!

The children enjoyed using a variety of art materials to create their own colourful masterpieces. Through painting, stamping, and experimenting with different shapes and colours, they discovered how patterns can be made by repeating colours, lines, and designs.

This creative experience encouraged the children to express themselves, develop their fine motor skills, and build early mathematical thinking as they recognised and created simple patterns.

What a wonderful day of learning, creativity, and fun! We loved seeing their imagination shine through every piece of artwork. ✨🖌️

Doctor role play fun! 🩺💙

Our little doctors have been busy caring, helping and using their imaginations through pretend play. Role play is such a wonderful way for children to build confidence, practise communication, develop empathy and explore the world around them in a fun and meaningful way.
