Over the weekend our team ventured up the mountain to Goodstart Maleny to partake in our Annual First Aid/CPR accreditation refreshers!

From CPR practice to emergency response scenarios, our educators are committed to ensuring they are equipped with the confidence and expertise to respond when it matters most.

Today, Mr Zain and Miss Britt sat down with Katie, Pumicestone State School’s very own family support coordinator to chat all things school transitions, and how we can support our Kindergarteners and families on successfully transitioning to BIG SCHOOL!
We explored what being ‘ready for prep’ actually means, and the tools children need to have a supportive and successful transition.

We also hashed out some super exciting projects with her, and we can’t wait to share these with you soon!

National Reconciliation Week saw our children and educators participating in wearing yellow today to support children’s ground and coming together as a community to acknowledge the past, start important conversations about reconciliation, contribute to closing the gap and look forward to a better future.

At our recent team meeting, we came together to reflect on what Goodstart’s LOOK, DO, TELL safeguarding framework means in our everyday practice 💛

👀 LOOK – staying alert to signs, behaviours or situations that may indicate a child is unsafe or needs support.
🛟 DO – taking action in the moment to protect, support and safeguard children.
📣 TELL – speaking up, reporting concerns and ensuring children’s voices and rights are always at the front of every decision we make.

We also empower our children to use this framework themselves, encouraging them to recognise unsafe situations, seek support, and feel confident using their voice 💬✨
